This is by all means a band full of technicians.. Graham Bonnet's vocals, the keyboard player sings sick harmonies, and then there's yngwie. All the players are rock solid!
Nothung like having Yngwie inspire you to play. I remember the 1st time I heard him play; was laying on the couch and this video from Alcatrazz, "Island in the Sun" came on. When it got to the solo I jumped off the couch and went straight to Tower Records and bought the lp!
yep.i saw alcatrazz with nugent.i got there early and yngwie was doing his own soundcheck.of course i didn't know who he was back then and i thought he had school the next day just like me.
Nice version, even if the visual is blurred. It's the music that matters, anyway. Yngwie was a freaking MONSTER. I don't think he ever did anything as cool as when he was with Alcatrazz. Alcatrazz was very sadly too short lived. What a band.
WOW!!!! i had this on VHS!!! sad part is, look closely how many people are there to watch the show (even though there are seats beyond the floor), so few to see early Alcatrazz and young Yngwie. thanks for putting this up (i thought this show was "In Concert", your absolutely right about the "Rock Palace"/ABC)- MAVIII(progulus.com, Prog Rock/Metal station)

I like how the band stands to one side and watches Malmsteen, knowing he's the whole show.

I saw theses guys in Columbus Oh. They opened up for Nugent. It was right before I got my first guitar.

Yes, it's very sad that this line up was very short lived. Kick ass song !

That top note he hits is an F#, and it sounds like it's full voice, not falsetto. Unbelievable!!!

Isn't this the show that Howie Mandel hosted? He makes a joke about being the "bird man for Alcatrazz"...is this it?
