This model weighs 2,3 tons, is 15 years old and had 200K on the clock and yet it can keep up with most cars today.

The engine is optimized to run in all conditions. In -50 to +60 degrees. In high altitudes and through water. And not only for normal use, but for heavy off-road use. Its not optimized for drag-racing

If you had read the notes that might have answered your question. It was running on 7 cylinders.

Its fast huh? the 2007 RR Sport HSE does 0-60 mph in 8,6 secs. The 1995 RR 4.6 HSE did it in 9.6. Its ONE! second slower. Besides...you are missing the point. Its not a drag racer! its a big heavy 4x4

The reason i choose the 2007 model was that that had the most comparable engine configuration. A 4.4 liter petrol v8. 2012 only comes with the TDV6 and the Supercharged 5.0 v8. Its not really fair to compare a heavily beefed up version to a normal version. Thats why i didnt compare the supercharged one.

and why are you even talking about the Range Rover Sport? Its a Discovery with a new shell and is not even based on the Range Rover platform.

I dont by Range Rovers to drag race them. I buy them because they can take me where very few other cars can take me and in a comfort NONE of those can offer.
