@MNeey Yes, her flexibility needs work as well. Her splits barely go past 180. I'm not being critical. I can't do any of this as well as them, but I think if you're competing for a world title you need to be unbelievable.

@gymnastagirl141009 I agree with you. And even thought this routine was one of her best and she was pretty solid, she is somewhat inconsistent. See the OG Qualifs (ribbon). She is not a rival to Kanaeva, at least not now. Tbh, i feel that russian gymnasts use contorsionism a bit too much for my taste, altho it is true that after kabaeva they kinda held back a little. To me, Daria still has work to do.

Lol I just love how people are saying that Evgenia is "past her prime", she's only 21! on top of that, she has only been competing for like 5 years on a professional level. Also, that Daria will "finally" beat Evgenia at the London Olympics, as if they have had some sort of rivalry against each other for years. Lmao

@ogredan100 she kind of is past her prime... For RG's, late teens is the best time because now her body is exhausted and she is not as flexible. Compare Zhenya in 2008 to Zhenya now. And it is not a "rivalry" deal, we mean that she actually deserves to beat zhenya. They are not out to beat each other, to us it is not a fact of "beating" kanaeva, its that we want her to win her rightful place as world/olympic champion

It's sad- I like Evgenia, but I feel like she's turning into the new Kebaeva. She's past her prime but still wins the highest place because she's Viner's student when another Russian is better but isn't coached by Viner. I mean, she's bette than Kabaeva was, but she still doesn't deserve to win.

Who else expects London podium to be another Athens?

Kanaeva is coached by Vera Vera Shtelbaums and Kondakova is coached by Anna Shumilova. Viner is Head Coach of Russia FIG. Kanaeva is different from Kabaeva and I agree Evgenia is better. Evegnia has been consistent while Daria most of the time is no.2 because her pivot executions are not that good compared to kanaeva and sometimes inconsistent.

London Olympics could be the time Daria will finally overtake Kanaeva

but if Evegnia is consustent she will again win against Daria

@hpobsessor1 Kanaeva is not coached by Viner and Viner doesn't particularly like her. She is first because she is the best russian and most of the time, she is the best of the competition. Viner wants a russian to win, and until Kondakova cleans up big time her gymnastics, she won't overedge Kanaeva. And that's a good thing

@Missnewyork28 Yeah, at this point i've figured out that Viner's not Evgenia's coach. Again, I don't have much access to info about RG because it's not very big where I live. Sorry for errors. I do understand that Evgenia's still wonderful and has maintained better than almost any gymnast (will be on the podium at 2 ogs and deserving it) but Daria has much stronger routines. However, I do accept she does need to clean up her routines a bit.

@hpobsessor1 I know what you mean, where I live, RG is not popular either. Well, Kanaeva was not in top form this year, her hoop routine is boring to death, she had issues with her ball. Otherwise her clubs and ribbon routine are breathtaking in terms of difficulty, execution, artistry. Kondakova's routine are messy, I mean, I don't see her telling a story on the floor like Kanaeva does. The music are terrible, first especially the ribbon one.

She doesn't feel what she is doing, she has no expressions. I just can't like her. It's too bad because I think she is a hard worker, she loves RG obviously but can't manage to be as polished and interesting than Kanaeva

@Missnewyork28 No Zhenya was not in top form, and rg girls tend to get worse with age. Zhenya had the best ribbon and Dasha's clubs were not as good, but that's partly cuz they're trying to turn her into Godunko Revisited instead of letter her do her dramatic style we see in hoop and ball. I think she has great musicality in ball and hoop and there's expression in her ribbon, though not as much. Ah well, I guess I'll just root for Dasha and you Zhenya and see who wins in London.

I think Kanaeva and Kondakova both are great gymnasts. Both of them have their own strength and weaknesses... i dun really care what ppl said about them. I just want to see BOTH of them on podium in London 2012 =D

I don't like the music - but I became used to it lol. Her body conditioning looks incredible. She's in great shape! I love her leo. And I think she did well, so I hope she challenges Kanaeva in the AA final for the gold medal!
