Rotary engines burn oil (blue smoke) if the main seal is compromised or completely messed up. Even rotary's shouldn't burn blue smoke when properly running,
@miek127 The Porsche was a shit design on day one its take 50 years to elevate the handling from lethal to acceptable, probably the most overated car in the world. The rotary engine just isnt worth talking about.
@Manoo62 Porsche... it's not your standard set-up for balance I guess, but it seems to have suited a lot of drivers well in history. They seem to hold their own in the Le Mans GT class, agree?
If someone understands how to control it, it could be acceptably lethal on the track.
I always hear that, without losing rear grip, that the RR set-up handles like it's on rails...idk.
Just curious... what's your preference of sportscar and motor?
che cazzo lo sanno tutti che un motore fa rumore, tenerlo acceso e accelerare non serve a niente solo per inquinare invece visto che è accesa non potrebbe andarci????????????????????'
its either a 13B or a 20B Rotary engine. And for the post down the page, rotaries really dont burn that much oil, mine would use maybe a mm or 2 off the gauge every week or so, just depends how much of a whore u treat it... u treated it like quite the slut =).
If your going to get a rotary please consider the cost factor of Petrol and rebuilds, they do get expensive and you'll need one every 100k-150k to keep it in good shape
@TheReaperDK As a general rule of thumb I have found is that it takes about a quart of oil every other full tank of gas if you are driving it hard constantly, i.e. you live 8 miles up a canyon that you drive hard everyday. Even then you can expect at least 130k miles out of the engine at 1 quart every other tank of gas and beating the engine really hard.
But why haven't we discussed the power of the engine? Is it a Mazda rx7 engine with 115 bhp. The car is currently for sale in Holland and I'm curious.....
Dude... A 91 C2 and 68 912 are completely different cars. A 68 912 has more in common with a VW bug than it does with a late model 911. A fully race prepared rotory cost about 6000 US out the door and will last for 1000 hours. How much to you think a race prepared 3.2 with a turbo and the rest would cost? 25000-30000 US for 600HP... How long you expect those turbos to last? 8-9 hours before a 2000 US rebuild... I'm not trying to be a dick, just use your head befor declare someone lame.
@samtech79 yea but they did kind of defile a 912... there are only so many of them left on the road. I love seeing them used hard and enjoyed to the fullest but it just seems kinda sad. Nothing against the rotary I actually like all the rotary engine but a porsche is a porsche and if you don't have the money for a porsche racing engine then just race with the stock engine ya know :-P BTW a fully race prepped rotary engine costs a whole lot more than 6 grand try 12-20 depending on quality.
Say what you want, when 2.7 liter owners are rebuilding their bottom ends every 20K miles for not much less than a down payment on a house this guy is probably trying to decide if the wheels on the trailer should match the truck.
metering pumps are unreliable, i run a premix in my jport i'm not running the recomended mix just guessing with 100mls of castrol r30 per 10 litres i've never had a smoke issue
you're a dumb fuck, rotarys rev up to 9k, torque doesn't move a car, it just applies force, horsepower is what determines speed. Take a physics lesson
Yeah spoilers are cosmetic in most cars. this looks like a race car to me, and it is a Porsche spoiler so it is probably tuned to the car, I think it looks bad-ass. Yeah spoilers don't really work at low speeds.

LOL ....LOL sounds nice for a porsche??? Old skool high compresion porsche motors produce some of the best sounds known to man! not some crap tri rotor.
actually i enjoy time on the track to thanks to some parts from CPP performance, i like straight line racing as much as the next but curves are more of a challenge in a lowered bigblock truck and that interests me. 11 seconds?? i have had a small block with nitrous in my truck and i ran a 10.87 and i will prove it to anyone and when i said that spoiler is cosmetic i ment it looks like a honda one and they arnt for shit, if you tuned it to the car then im retract that portion of my comment
its funny because even with that rotary my 1966 c10 would smoke it. and if thats not a spoiler tuned for downforce then why the fuck have it? my 454 would hand that thing its ass
Sure. I agree. no car can be Big block on Straight line. But please no more smack talk. prove your car can run under 11 sec under with Time Sheet... Talk is cheap. special the Street racing talk.... If you cant drive on The Track(Road Course wise). Please dont say any thing about Down force !!. Last Enjoy your cruise , not thing wrong with it. but I enjoy Driving on track more. And that require "Skill" not just Power and mouth....
interesting conversion, Have you mounted the 13b/12a motor in the rear still or have you moved it more mid-engined set-up? what's it like to drive :P ???
just the way i like its, no pistons :]

how lame I have a 1991 c2 that I wouldnt think of doing this to
Just use the 3.2 liter and a large turbo kit or buy a twin turbo model and get the hp numbers that way
I went with a gt35r and we expect numbers of 550-600hp
That is plenty for a car like this
