"I found, for example, that the common and oversimplified practice of citing some individual as the 'father' of television is a patent distortion of history...to squeeze the numerous contributions into the narrow confines of one individual does an injustice to the facts: a remarkable interaction of several hundred major scientists striving towards a common goal."
--Dr. Albert Rose in the foreword to Albert Abramson's "History of Television, 1881-1941" acknowledged as the definitive work about TV
Please do some homework. First, John Logie Baird did not invent television; no single person can make that claim. Second, it was not produced by the BBC to be broadcast in Germany. Third, the image although small, was not as small as this--it was about the size of a bus ticket or a large stamp. And fourth, what we're watching is not the original 1930 broadcast but a recreation of it performed in 1967, since in 1930 there was no way of preserving television broadcasts.
@mrmousebender When I read this I felt like an idiot, but you're right. Thank you for informing me and others who watch this video in the future. I will update the description in tune with your knowledge.
@mrmousebender I go to quizzes and the Q of who invented television comes up now and again..the answer is the Scotsman,John Logie Baird. Are you saying this is the wrong answer?
@mrmousebender John Logie Baird FRSE (13 August 1888-14 June 1946)[1] was a Scottish[2] engineer and inventor of the world's first practical, publicly demonstrated television system, so fuck off
@tardiskeeper6 I am not sure about inches/cm it could of been anything. But I know the resolution is 30 by 90 (That is, it is 90 'pixels' high). These days we have TV 1080 pixels high (That is, 1080p, also known as Full HD)
think tv was so small back then
