Folks, its not the drivers fault - if all wheels are locked and its still sliding, its the dockowners fault - they have to constantly scrub the algae build up off the dock, or you get this type of situation.
You imply it slid with all wheels locked? Does that mean the ramp was covered in moss or slick seaweed? that would require one hell of an angle.. But I would say the same thing so my insurance company had that statement... Looks like dude fucked up bigtime... OOPPPSSSS!
ok mister this an Michigan ant like 3 foot of water up to 1 mile lol its true on the thumb part u can drive truck or jeep on ur land out here long u dont get stuck i saw a truck out 50 foot away from land an he was out there on a truck im like Wtf he doing O_o
That truck is not totalled. It's only water it dries. Everybody thinks their truck or car is dead or totalled when submerged in water, all you have to do dry everything out and change all the fluids, in the engine, tranny, and rears. And possibly check a few electical parts. If you like the truck enough its worth the work.
This is why it is a good idea to have someone in the boat at the helm. That way if something goes wrong he can fire up the motor and at least try to stop the truck from sliding in.
haha all wheels don't lock in park the front still free spins still and the rear wheels would have spun two diff ways.. meaning that only one wheel holds the truck in place and the e break is there for a reason use it next time
full coverage insurance companies pay for it i learned the hard way. but try to back up the truck into the water instead and make sure the trialers on the back.
Awesome comment, Its true, Drowning a toyota or a nissan doesnt seem to have the same effect as drowning other cars. -i drowned my patrol a cupel of weeks back, water was 2m deep. . . and its ok.
wow so it slid down the ramp in park with the brakes on ?, that sucks, i never even thought about this happening , im definateky gonna remember this next time im at the ramp.
My dad an Almost lost his new f1502x4 first time at the ramp with it.. had to power the boat up too get the truck bed outta the water an someone hooked a rope to us an drug us out. Ramp was so coverd in algae we werent the only ones that day.
thats awefull maby you can use the boat to go to work ? lol whatta mess ive seen it happen before and you can do anything but watch it go in unless you act fast and hook to another truck thats a shame neat video tho
GMC's dont float either. I did the same last weekend. Pulled fwd after launching boat, thought it was in park, found out in reverse and away she went! What a sick feeling to see.
Oh man, my father almost lost his car into the sea, same problem. The ramp was covered in algae and the hand brake was on and in park, car started going back into the water, water up to the back door. I jumped in and tried to take off, car sat back wheels spinning for a couple of seconds which was good, got rid of the algae gained grip and I managed to save the car. I feel for you man, I hope you have insurance.
normally when you launch a boat its backed in the water. never seen a boat launched over the truck before..maybe im new at that kind of thing but it makes sense to back it in right? maybe im retarded?????
He tried so hard to make it not appear like driver error. Ya know, except for the whole, truck facing into the water concept. He wasnt launching the boat. Boat was already launched. Some made the mistake of parking facing down hill. Course you slid into the fucking lake. Jesus. You launch the boat, and then park the truck, IN THE PARKINGLOT, NOT THE RAMP FACING THE WATER. Not too hard sweetie.
what the hell are you talking about man its still tailgate towards water.....i have launched some sketchy ramps man and had some close calls because of moss. give the guy a break man he just lost his truck.
look at the truck. bed of the truck is still up. which would suggest what? I do see the ramp in the background, so it appears the truck drifted a while. truck should be submerged. So something tells me theres no trailer attached to that truck. If it WAS tailgate down, and you had the brakes locked, what possessed you to not start the truck and ya know, drive away from the water? Nothing. There fore, we conclude, Driver Error. Not the 'unkept' ramps fault, but the owner of the damn truck.
what would it suggest fella? how many times have you launched should be the better question. look at the position of the boat and if his bed is up it means trailer! fucking moron. i can tell you saw daddy launch a boat once and think your an expert. shut the fuck up.
by the way smart guy you stated...."Some made the mistake of parking facing down hill. " if he was facing down hill his tail gate would be towards the ramp. shush now.
Aw sweetie, why so angry? I happen to own a boat of my own, and I launch her successfully every time. Most people think 'oh yeah launch ramps are slippery we have to be careful or we could lose a truck." truth is, I've seen a few trucks lost into the lake by way of boat ramp, but not once was it a matter of slipping into the water, it was ROLLING into the water. Which STILL means, the truck DID NOT have its brakes applied, and WAS NOT in park.
I use my chevy with a manual trans to tow, my e-brake doesnt work, and I STILL don't lose my truck into the lake. I don't make driver error, not when it comes to launching my boat. By the way sweet heart, I was playing on the chances of the truck drifting away from where it went under, most of the time they dont drift away straight.
Ifell soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad for you.How did you get your boat home? And by the way YOUR TRUCK IS NOT DEATH!
well get out and go for a swim i guess and get her out i've pulled stuff with wheels loked up out now that engine and electronic is a enitrelly different thing lots of work and money but you can do it
