  • aaah Smooth Jazzy at it's Best..Love it

  • I've never seen people enjoy making tunes more than this. You can even see them mouthing the sounds of their instruments under their breath. Then the bassist can't hold that shit in and starts shouting out noises like a mad bastard. Quality stuff.

  • Oh hell this is baby making music!

  • beautiful improve..

  • smooth!

  • hey 10 dislikes get a life this is smooth jazz :P

  • best version ever!!

  • Four Play the best in smooth jazz

  • @BaMsE88able Im god

  • I love this supergroup!! Man every chance I get to see these guys play, I am there!! Great people. Great talent. Fourplay is awesome!!

  • R.I.P CD101.9fm. Anyone knows a good jazz station here in NY? Or a station that has that hour block of jazz/contemporary jazz stuff?

  • @mrbassplayerable Watercolors, but it's only on xm radio.

  • geniuses!!!!! Hard to sound better. Maybe the best team that formed Fourplay.

  • Oops...I posted earlier that another song of theirs was my fave song of theirs, but I'd forgotten of this song. It's the first one of theirs I heard and I fell in love with the song and the group...so I'd have to say THIS song is my fave of theirs. And I agree with bemolable's comment below!

  • The best vesion of this song ever play by them!! If the Academy Award pulish off a category named "THE BEST IMPROVISATION" Nathan East could win a grammy award with this one! There´s no doubt about it!!!!!!

  • Beatiful,to hear Nathan East and Lee Ritenour together !

    Thanks

  • Damn! Lee looks the same as when i first saw him in '79. Why age if you can play like that.

  • I bet Lee wrote this number. Am i right ? Great number

  • wow!!!! the bass and guitar is awesome!!! as a drummer i want to play with them.!!! harhar

  • I am fortunate to have this CD. I watch it from time to time whenever I'm in the mood to hear the most fantastic music I can imagine. As a bass player myself, Nathan is one of my heros. This is simply one of my favorite groups. Outstanding musicianship. All of them!

  • Forget medications... just groove on this for a cure to what ails you! This is one of the best songs ever, for so many reasons, starting with the band.

  • will never get this group together as it was, keep seeing them piecemeal, bob james w/ keiku matsui, lee ritenour with his own group...damn!

  • so silky smooth. these dudes are the shit.

  • This instrumental song really goes well with the drive on Route 101 south (actually, more eastbound or Los Angeles bound) in southern California between Goleta and Thousand Oaks!

  • Awesome!!!

  • Very good sound !!!

  • Nathan East's frenzied delivery set this afire.

  • Lee Ritenour YEEEEAH!

  • When its all said and done about musical chops. Its extremely tasteful to know how to make a groove flex like a rubber band but still keep the pulse that makes the neck ache. know what I'm saying....YEAH...aight..Peace

  • Nice as most of their music but can any1 please post the jam quadrille

  • I thought that was Frank Gambale with hair! This guy sure got his moves from him.

  • amazing how intense it still is 2 mins in when there are all playing so quiet

  • Those 8 peple (I guess they were people) probabbly got here by mistake...now that I think of it, they are probably aliens who nothing of American Jazz music!

  • very nice sound~~in this spring~~with fourplay~~

  • I feel Nate is top of the chart in BASS players

  • This is really a good band. so smooth on every notes. Nathan East really kick the groove.

  • Now that IS some FINE picken bass man.

  • @Absolutionftw if you can't make it up yourself, don't bother, tab for slap bass? uh

  • Nathan Beast

  • Bob the legend James.......Wow.

  • Lee Ritenour's guitar tone here is awesome.

  • @RedStrat It isn't Lee Ritenour, know your stuff before posting these comments, please!

  • @isleoforkney

Is this a joke? The video description says so.. searching "Lee Ritenour" in Google Images says so too. I think YOU have you know your stuff, man.

  • @RedStrat well not really a joke, just idling away my time in a pointless way, you're right I don't know my stuff, but I know who Lee Ritenour is now, impressed!

  • True Professional Musicians, Fourplay - Bob James, Lee Ritenour, Nathan East and Harvey Mason.

  • yeah but song in missing a tamberine or a shaker, fill in the gap, :D

  • Sounds like Randy West favorite tune.

  • My opinion this song fits perfectly to an american, black cop in sunglasses from criminal movies like Moses Hightower

  • Nathan took it to the Church!

Saw them at the Beacon and his solo blew the roof off..........Damn!

  • bass man!!!!

  • need some more stars..to give them..

    no talk..just feel..

  • I don't know what I love most about this song...It could be Harvey's snare hits during Bob's solo, the part when he has just switched the sound to the electric piano and they're starting to pick up the pace. It could also be the licks Bob does just after Harveys said snare magic. What I want to say is that it's all about the details. These guys are are all masters of their respective instruments and thats why I still, after a few thousand listens, find new little things everytime I listen to this!

  • @GroovyPiano

Agreed. Subtleties like those in this song absolutely make jazz music great. This is why, to me, putting on some jazz on a nice, upscale 2-channel stereo, is like listening for the first time all over again.

  • Thank You! This is my favourite song. After this there're so many!

  • I love this group. NAthan East is such a great player, as are all the rest of these fine musicians. Such a gorgeous performance.

  • I love this group. NAthan East is such a great player, as are all the rest of these fine musicians.

  • AMAZING!!!!!... unfortunately poor video and sound quality :(

  • Man!! Look at how these musicians REALLY love music. They're using their insturments to communicate to the souls of many. LOVE IT!!

  • @cgamonwhit Soooo true!

  • i actually do that sometimes with my dad :D

  • @TylerDurden398 Yes Tyler it does a road out in Vegas aka Mafia Land

  • @TylerDurden398

Yes! On a cool summer night with my moon roof open.

  • @TylerDurden398 In a VW Bus

  • @TylerDurden398 I agree with you except that this song reminds me of the U.S. Route 101 in California (the 101 Freeway) between Gaviota and Ventura.

  • @TylerDurden398 Especially in the desert during the middle of a starlit night.

  • @TylerDurden398 that's exactly what i thought while hearing this song!

and then i saw your comment and had to laugh.

  • @TylerDurden398 YES IT DOES NO DOUBT

  • @TylerDurden398 Yeah with the right chick and with a few drinks inside me, I'd just keep driving, although that's not so great in the UK as there are very few roads for cruising, and I'd probably get caught again for driving under the influence cos when I drive, I go like the clappers, yeah and that means fast. haven't hit anyone yet, scraped a few parked cars though tehe

  • @isleoforkney Hey i hear buddy, keep it between the lines.

  • saw them in concert at the Keswick theater outside Philly, the REAL DEAL!!!!

    They turned it out!!!

  • BOB JAMES IS THE MAN!

  • This white BBNE2 is the best bass i've ever come across. It's all there, all the sounds you need.

  • Absolutely!! I would put the Yamaha basses up against Pedulla or any other Bass for that fact.

  • Its not the BBNE2 that is being used in this clip. Its a white TRB6 of some sort

  • ...its not finished! i was about to come!!! noo!!!

  • It was 1997 when I first heard this piece, I was riding a taxicab on my way home after a night of fun. Suddenly I became a Fourplay fanatic.

  • I recently got their album 'Yes, Please', am enjoying it much. Especially since it's the rainy season here. Thanks for posting!

  • Is this live version available on CD? By the way, the arguments about Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour and Bob James and Joe Sample are just dumb. What a waste of time. Just enjoy the damn song.
