Obviously souldancer hasn't got a clue about fashions of the time, as kerstin65 points out, these dresses are sooo feminine, they show the dance off beautifully, I loved watching this as a child and just wished to wear one of these gowns just once.

I completely disagree with "souldancer". The women´s dresses are not ridiculous at all.

In my opinion the dresses of that era are the the most feminine dresses ever and they look fantastic. Maybe it´s hard to believe for people they have never worn petticoats in their lives but wearing gowns like that is like being in heaven.
