Do you know how many inches your filter hangs off the back of your tank? My stand only allows for about 3 inches of space behind the tank and I want an external filter that fits. I know, poor design.
@xxvolcomkidxx13 i have a whisper it is great for sound and gets the job done but i am switching to the aqua clear because the whisper requires you to buy pads like every monthish . so it is a good investment to get the aqua clear you can re use the pad a lot longer than the whisper
lol you can't get away from your fish they follow you. The Aqua Clear filter is propably the best hang on filter on the market. I just wish they would make it out of better plastic. Check out my aqaurium.
@mariogamecrazy You need to buy all three. It won't work with just the foam. For all three it's not expensive. It's under $10, and you never have to replace the biological inserts, which is good because it's the most expensive (like $5, haha). If you need more help just ask! This is the best filter for the price in m opinion.
@mariogamecrazy I know this is an old discussion, but if anyone here knew anything about aquariums you would would know that the carbon is just about completely pointless, if you are constantly putting chemicals and medication in your tank, then carbon is a good way to remove that, the most important filtration in a freshwater tank is the mechanical(chunks of debris) and biological which removes converts ammonia to nitrites then to nitrates, the foam does both and the pellets does bio
