One of my favorite scenes in B5 was when they were in court and there was what looked like a typical "Grey" alien on the stand. It pans over to the plaintiff and it's a human yelling,"His great grandfather abducted my great grandfather, and I want justice!".

I really liked how B5 implemented its version of futuristic science into the episodes. Such as forming two jump gates on top of each other to destroy a trailing shadow vessel. Or the episode where they trapped a shadow vessel by luring into in a planet's gravity well.

B5 pawns any Star Trek series, The Dominion would have warpped out asap if the vorlons or shadows turned up anywhere near them. The Dominion would not stand a dchance if either planet killer vapourised their home world.

The enemies change and develop during the seasons. That's one of the reasons why Babylon 5 is such a great series.

The Shadows were an enemy nearly unable to defeat without the help of their counterpart, the Volons.

The Psi-Corps gets more dangerous when the Earth gathers more power, but the hope for victory is always there.

Yes , but this isnt star trek. This is babylon 5 and they had an epic storyline, better than startrek DS9 in their first three years. They just stole the war-concept form B5.

The Dominion war defied all pre set knowlege about the Star Trek universe. As to ship stregenths, fleet disposition, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love both ST and B5. It's pointless to compare though... their both the best of what they are. :)

I loved it, I particularly liked the attention to realistic futuristic technology. By the way, combined fleets deployed in this battle scene could have wipe out any combined Star Wars & Star Trek fleets hands down. I loved the Shadows and their straight out of hell nature, a suddenly appearing Shadow ship could destroy any thing in its sight using surprise.

In the end it turned out the Shadows were sort of social engineers. Creating a new order from chaos every millenium. Great concept though.

the thing i like about b5 above all other sci-fi, is that it is one long story.... interlooped, twisted and flawless. not a series of little stories leading to nothing and made up as they go along.... writen when needed. and the battles are unrivaled by any.

I certainly don't think that B5 is flawless, indeed, quite a few things went wrong with JMS' story arc, but, for all that, B5 remains as one of the best Sci-fi's of all time.

Ok. You know who would kick all others asses in these battle scenes, but I have not seen hide nor tail of them in these vs. videos? You know the dinosaur people from that episode of voyager? They have been in space for millions of years and have far superior technology, even compared to species 8471 which is also quite powerful.

Babylon 5 had some of the most impressive space battles I've ever seen - so much variety...Then again, most of the sci fi I get is through books, not TV/Movies, so most space battles I am exposed to are ones I have to visualize.

The Drakh were one of the species the shadows left behind. They started a war on all other species using remaining shadow technology. Perhaps they were created or influenced in their evolution by the Shadows because they seem to be relatives.

They weren't relatives, probably more like a working class race engineered for their ability to control people with their keepers and carry out shadow govts, infiltration & other clandestine ops. I wouldn't call them relatives, maybe a cross between organic robots and worker ants but with willing alliance

the vree are members of the league of non-aligned worlds (hope the spelling is correct) and are in no episode specially mentioned. they appear in only one episode as real beings, not only in their ships. That was because they were sued for abduction. lol.

It's on DVD. It was a series. There are 5 seasons, a movie set, plus a sequel season called Crusade, and another movie called "Legend of the Rangers." It's all available on Amazon.

No see what happened was it was one of the first times they had fought a Shadow ship one on one. Needless to say they couldn't beat it so to kill it they sacrificed a jump gate by opening a incoming point and a outgoing point at the same time causing a feedback loop destrying the shadow ship and damaging the white star but they were not destroyed. Hope that helped any, can't believe I still remember that from when I was a child.

Wonderfull! Every now and then I stumble upon something that reminds me of B5 and how much I mis it. I watch any of the Star Trek series and love Voyager, Enterprise, FireFly and BSG but B5 will allways be my #1.

lol. You had to watch B5 from the beginning. Each show isn't an encapsulated story like ST is... it's a 5 year epic. I bet if you watched it from beginning to end you'd really like it- possibly more than Star Trek.

The willingness to engage in **total war, all the time** is giving us a surreal glimpse into the not too distant future wherein the stars above us serve as the majestic battleground rather than the fields of Europe or the deserts of Iraq. Makes one wonder what space exploration is really about...a paradise present or a future battleground.
