I`ve listend to that song all up and down the YouTube list for the one version I like best. Found it here next to the one by Bob McGrath. Thank you! You have such a great voice it is a pleasure listening to it all over again and I`m certainly listening to it again on Saint Patrick`s Day.
my great grandmother loved this song, she sang it to me when i was little and even when i was a teenager, so i could try to sing it when i had my own children. she passed 3 years ago in february and i just now have a little one of my own on the way. i only ever heard Danny O'Donnel's version until i found this video. you have done amazingly and i wish she was here to sing this to my son but since she cant be im forever grateful that you have made this so he can hear it. thank you <3
Oh damn, memories... I remember falling asleep to this as my grandmother sung it. Don't I miss my lovely childhood. I was singing it with you and got so teary! I miss Ireland.
I am not one to share a comment, but I did want to share on this song. It is kind of strange (my comment,) but this man can sing and he seems so gentle. I never had a dad to sing to me, as mine died when I was four years old, but this man's gentle voice makes me think of how my dad's voice would sound if he was alive. My great-grandfather was an Irish-man, and I like to think that he taught my dad this lullaby during their time together. My story may be corny to some, but I thank who sang this.
My Mother used to sing this to me every night before falling off to sleep when I was a child. You sing this very well. You have a lovely tenor voice.I in turn did sing this to my own little Daughters when they were smal...it's wonderful to have songs to hand down as well as trditions
Sir your performance very much reminds me of Joe Feeney's from the Lawrence Welk show. I must say that your voice, pitch, and tone are outstanding. I hope someday I can sing this to my children and give them the warm feeling to fall asleep that you just gave to me. Thank you and good night :)
Its so true that music is a universal language. I'm as far from Irish as you can get (a completely American black man) and I have to admit just listening to this wonderful song performed so (in my mind) perfectly almost mad me shed a tear. Thanks for the upload.
Just beautiful. Oh, how I wish to possess a voice like that. On another note, I'd like to mention that your incredible rendition of this classic helped me cope with the loss of a dear friend. Thank you, sir, for your talent has brought joy to my world, as I hope it has to many others.
Such a great job. I think I remember Joe Feeney singing this on the Welk show when I was young. Your rendition was great and brought back warm memories. thanks for sharing your talent.
thank you, thank you! iused to sng this to mychildren then grandkids. it's been several years, but now have new grandson and age prevented me from remembering all the words. Other s never came close to Bing, I think he'd smile on yours.
I remember my Father, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother singing this to me as a child. To this day it is the only song that I truly cherish. Thank you so much for posting this song, and doing it with such wonderful pitch and timing.
I just happened upon this video. I hate to admit it, but I'm not familiar with this singer. He is a very talented singer. i remember not even 18 years ago when i was a baby and even till i was 5 my dad always sung this song to me, put me right to sleep, you did a wonderful job with this song, you have a great voice
My family and I had my grandfather's funeral this morning and sang this outside the church after the service...this was his favorite Irish song (he was VERY proud of his Irish heritage) and this is a tremendous version....brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear it.
A great voice and a great song. Looking forward to celebrate St. Patrick's day, although I am Italian and live in Germany. It's about respect and solidarity and we all know that Irish people are nice and friendly and Ireland itself is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. You did a great job, singing this song and sending out best wishes to the other people celebrating St. Patrick's day. I hope all of you enjoy it in 2010 as well.
