my great grandmother loved this song, she sang it to me when i was little and even when i was a teenager, so i could try to sing it when i had my own children. she passed 3 years ago in february and i just now have a little one of my own on the way. i only ever heard Danny O'Donnel's version until i found this video. you have done amazingly and i wish she was here to sing this to my son but since she cant be im forever grateful that you have made this so he can hear it. thank you <3

I am not one to share a comment, but I did want to share on this song. It is kind of strange (my comment,) but this man can sing and he seems so gentle. I never had a dad to sing to me, as mine died when I was four years old, but this man's gentle voice makes me think of how my dad's voice would sound if he was alive. My great-grandfather was an Irish-man, and I like to think that he taught my dad this lullaby during their time together. My story may be corny to some, but I thank who sang this.

Not sure if my first comment was posted. I said your presentation of this song is marvelous. You have a beautiful voice. It makes me cry because it makes me think of the one I have missed most of my adult life-some 27 years. I had such a great love that it it sustains me to this day.
