Only reason people think it's by Babyshambles is because it's part of the Babyshambles sessions which were going on while the Libertines were still together...

@septangle7 It's not pathetic to think that Doherty has talent, you most likely haven't listened to many of the songs he's written. Most people make judgements on the few singles that are always played that he's associated with, can't stand me now for instance or don't look back into the sun, but even I'm not impressed by them and I'm a huge fan of Pete. Some of the songs he's written are truly extraordinary, and even if you don't like his sound, no one can dispute he has a talent with words.
