the real issue here isnt that the friend is gay, its about sin, sin is sin no matter what it is. If I tell a lie that is sin and I am no better than the guy who robbed a bank, but forgiveness is for all to have, God says to seek him, not religion, or church or anything else but Him. Well, it *is* difficult to keep up a friendship when your friend is hitting on you. You don't need to look into that crappy book he quotes in the beginning to know that. I don't think the "advise" is that wrong, although the reasons the guy is giving are crappy, of course.
