some here was saying when he or she pivets she would not hit his head but that does not need to be an elbow but a stike as she pivits to the groin and still get the movement. Right now we are going to post this exact thing on Hapkidotv and use a girl but she is also deaf. What I teach is to flow with the punch do not make a fist but open hand for energy, then no matter how the strike or the step I have first response and strike the throat then knee the groin then do a redirection throw.
I like the basic ideals of this principle but for alot of women if this is a beginner technique for a door knocker type punch they might not understand the wind evasion yet maybe more of an earth style defense would work out better for a beginner with their weight sinking down and proper musculoskeletal alignment to disrupt the attacker instead.
This technique, like many other M.A's techniques, is something that would take years and years of practice. Even a badic boxing style bobbing and weaving would take years to perfect.
Pretty decent.....at least it deals with any possible subsequent left that is likely to be thrown by immediately taking the offensive. The technique has merit. The spinning still makes it a little complex for street work based on the possible of spinning and falling, but it can work with practice.
Good stuff! Do you have videos that show that technique for the height difference? She was really small compared to you and her elbow hit your chest. With that I would doing everything the same, but go straight to the groin shot, the hit the chin with a rising elbow, then the rest of it was great!
I think the girl had a hard time hitting the face, but if she uses her hips as a strike to the groin and an elbow or 2 to a few other vital targets. Could work. But this shows the basic idea of a very good evasion thanks for sharing friend. I always love your style.
I agree with your teaching and there some nice Judo throws from there but the Idea of blocking and turning it into a elbow very nice and then going to inverted bar arm very good transition. I would love to have you look at our stuff in Hapkidotv and bring some good true self defense so we can work together and make and coordinate our Hapkido.
it is realy untresting to see your video. i will soon upload a video to show how to do the same thing in the same way without using the elbow. and also other ways of doing it. the thing is tath the girl is so smaller than you. and allmost always is tath way. so to hit the face with the elbow is so hard. it also vaty in all cituations. and if the elbow fail. the guy will have full control of the situation. you example is good. just need more non stoping motion.
mr notung69 would you please show me how you would have a female defend herself from this type of attack. I believe you may have some good ideas based on your comment.
How , when she totally catches the attacker off guard with that elbow and then quickly damages or breaks his arm at the elbow joint with the weight of her body??
Fact is you just put her back between his arms. Easy grab and pin for him and then she has fun trying her bearhug defence.
Self Defence 101: Face the attacker. Never turn your back.
Have you got any actual 1st or 2nd hand experience of using this technique for REAL?
Yeah the Muay Thai, Sport Karate and TKD guys do these spins in the ring. Note that they 90% of the time FAIL to even hit never mind stun the target. Not street
@danielskipp1 would of,could of,should of, The stuff that keyboard warriors are made of. Fact is there is no easy grab after just getting knocked square on your jaw by an elbow even if it is by a woman. And for you to ignore that fact shows you know nothing about this subject.
Even if she does pull off a good solid hit with the point instead of the tricep you assume the guy is so weak and soft instead of being big and painimmune [booze or adrenaline or just badass tough] that he has no chance to simply grab her. Except it falls down [with her giving her back to a heavier stronger guy] when you consider that even if he is stunned and seeing stars it is instinctive when falling to grab something. Her hair or ear, face or collar would do nicely. FAIL.
@danielskipp1 Again, More could of , would of nonsense. Seems your are thinking that she just stands there after the elbow, but she doesnt, she keeps moving. So your THEORY about being grabbed , FAILS. But hey thanks for the BS comments anyway. Now ,move on!
@Notung69 I always think the same thing when I see womens "self-defense" techniques. They, IMO, give women a false sense of security or ability to defend themselves. In other words, gives them an incentive to engage in combat when they could've taken more effective precautionary or defensive measures such as: mace, pepper spray, calling 911, or the all-time best defense technique....RUN! I think these techniques are more likely to anger an attacker and get the women crucially or severely hurt.
@spideycentz I think its because your thinking as a man who under estimates the capabilities of woman. Sure a woman could do all those things you mentioned, yet and still every 3 seconds a women is still assaulted in the USA. So now what?? Better for them to try something cause obviously the options you mentioned are not keeping women from being killed, raped or beat up. Any resistance is likely to anger and attacker so come on with the excuses.
very interesting in the beginning the block u were talking about i believe is the aikido one where u put your elbows into his incoming attack.

I might be wrong, but I think the momentum from the spin would be stopped by the elbow. Its a pretty short spin anyway, but I see what you're saying.

Oh just a quick question, Have you been trained in or teach at your dojo the "Center Line Principle"?
FoxFireAlliance 3 years ago
No, sorry I have not. Where is this center located?
SuubUrbanNinja 3 years ago
No worries.. this guy probably doesn't know that a well placed elbow to your opponents nose can blind him in his own tears and blood.
Keep your videos coming man its good stuff..

Great way to get a girl killed.
