I've been a fan of To Build A Home (the song) way before this comerical came out, and the first time I saw this comerical, I was amazed, and I just started drinking some chivas...
This commercial is racist. There is not one black, asian, or hispanic person in it. The line that bugs me states, "...here's to a code of behavior that sets certain men apart, here's to us..."
Your taking this commercial in different manner. Most of the commentators below understand that Chivalry is a form of behavior that in this modern society (regardless of race) have died and that this commercial is promoting such a behavior is very phenomenal and beautiful. Not to mention the commercial is marketing to the Caucasian because of their heritage.
@beautyt I remembered when it was being racist to hurt and discriminate against other races. Now, according to you , it's racist to NOT include other races into ones commercials....
First of all it's 2010, so marketing to one set race when their are many different races, and ethnicities is beyond ridiculous! Because of their heritage you say, that's even more ridiculous. If I am correct the word chivalry came about from political and military relationship among European nobility.
With that being said the idea of chivalry existed throughout the world. African's had kings and queens as well and practiced a form of chivalry, are these people less chivalrous because they called it something different? I don't think so. However, you're entitled to your opinion as I am mine. =)
@beautyt First: This is the short 30secs version. Watch the full 1min version and you'll see that you're mistaken about racism. Second: You absolutely missed the meaning of the video. Third: Is it so hard for you people to just appreciate something without commenting foolish stuff like that? Fourth: This campaign is brilliant, and it has inspired people all over the globe, me included, and I'm from Venezuela. D.R.
@beautyt Asian is a race, Black is a race, but HISPANIC is not a race! The things not taught in school. Just got everybody is not in it doesn't mean it's racist or whateva. And you totally are taking this ad out of context. Wow. @kinamina1 pretty much nailed though I dissagree w/ the last sentence.
@beautyt actually if you look at :07 theirs a Asian man their as well as a woman behind him their it is no longer racist...does that let you sleep better at night...you no the thing that "bugs me" the most is the fact that theirs people out their like you; dont be so fukin ignorant for once. alright all it does is make you look stupid.
@beautyt You mean besides the black fireman placed right in the middle of the commercial, right? Also, it's set in England and aimed at a certain type of English consumer. Perhaps you can go rage against Corona commercials because they are only set on teh beach.
@beautyt May I ask why you're on the look out for different races? Everybody is human regardless of their race, I just see people. Racism remains a problem today because people like you are acting as the "race" police, and constantly trying to bring up this issue instead of giving people the benefit of the doubt.
Maybe it's because I'm an American, but I love this guy's accent. Other british accents I'm not so fond of, but if anyone knows which regional tone this is, could you let me know.
Also, this is my favorite commercial ever. I literally will rewind the Tivo to view it again.
well done... i had read somewhere online that it's russell brand's voice? anyone know? what a BEAUTIFUL commercial... i know that lots of people skip commercials now, but when they are done right... by union professionals... just wonderful... xo

btw, consider that it was shot in Buenos Aires, so you could assume everyone in the commercial is 'latino'

No, I'm taking this commercial exactly how it's being portrayed, as racist. You making that comment doesn't make me feel any better.
