I always look at this and Sgt. Pepper as a double album. Mostly cuz I can never decide which i think is better... so hey stick em together and call it "Sgt. Pepper's Magical Mystery Tour"!!!

Both albums have that unique Fabs in '67quality. You're right, they ARE like a double album. For a start "Strawberry" & "Penny" were meant to be on the Pepper l.p. The "Hello goodbye" promo is the only footage of them in the pepper suits apart from the album cover & all you need is love rounds it all off perfectly. At the moment I prefer Magical Mystery tour l.p. to Pepper but it's close & I'll probably change my mind next week. Having said all that the White album is my favorite.

@ntelekt1 Strawberry fields and Penny Lane was also made before sgt. pepper. so I see what you mean. I think i see this as 'Amnesiac', and then 'Sgt. Peppers' as 'Kid A', tho it's maybe difficult to compare Radiohead with Beatles like this...

From a hits point of view, it is. But the songs on the B side were already released earlier that year and not much new material on this album. The songs didn't flow as well. But from a song to song point of view, I think this has the most of my favorite songs of any of their albums.
