touching a pigeon shouldnt be too hard. buy cheap sliced loaf, go to pigeoney area, scatter until you have a sea of pigeons on the ground in front of you, then get them eating out of your hands, and slowly you can pick them up. I watched a guy doing this one lunchtime...

It's actually really easy to catch squirrels. And chipmunks too. You need a cage with a falling door, sunflower seeds, and the stick/string. Then prop up the door with the stick, and when a squirrel or chipmunk goes in, pull on the string and the door closes.

Sometimes they just go in by themselves, and rattle the door closed.

Maybe Wisconsin squirrels are just really stupid...

When my family and I went to Venice, Italy we walked around St. Mark's Square and there were many many pigeons. My cousin and I got some bread and started to feed the pigeons and they were very friendly to the point where they would land on us and let them touch us. Maybe it's just that Italian pigeons are more friendly than New York pigeons but it's definitely possible to touch a pigeon.

There are black squirrels in NY. It's quite hard to approach pigeons. You have to do it carefully. The running and screaming, "PIGEOOOONS!" doesn't work very well, I've tried it. I quite like NY...it's not my favorite place, but then again. I don't have a favorite place. Are you back home already? And I love pigeons. :D Most people hate them.

@pogobat I'm about to sound like a crazy forest girl, but my friends and I caught a chipmunk and kept it for a week. We simply put our hands out and he walked into them. If u live near a park the squirrels are usually equally friendly. If u have a nut in your hand you can get the squirrel to eat it right out if your hand. Just bring something to put the squirrel in once he is close enough to you!

I've caught a pigeon and touched a squirrel. A little backwards, but whatever. And if I want a squirrel to come within the touching (and presumably, the catching) range, nuts are key. Not cheerios though, never cheerios. They won't touch them. But make sure to wear gloves because they bite, and hard.
