  • I think they need more lights

  • Is that in Vermont? What railroad line is that on?

  • Is that the only track out to Western MA? If it is, we have a long way to go.

  • @yarmo28 There's Actually Many To Name Here. We Have A CSX Main Line That Runs East-west Between Selkirk New york And Boston, Hosting 20-25 Trains A Day. The Northern Route Is Pan Am Which Runs Between Mohawk NY And Portland Maine, And Has 4 Trains A Day. The North To South Route, Which Is NECR, Runs Between New London, CT And ST Albans VT. NECR Runs 4 Trains A Day, Plus Two Vermonters, As Seen Here. Another North South Route Is The Housatonic Railroad, A Few Trains A Week. Hope This Helps!

  • @skyman2002 Thanks. What a complete run-down on all the activity. I think the first you mentioned (NY to Boston) runs through our city and does carry a lot of freight, but I've only seen one passenger train in several decades. Since Amtrak got rid of the Montrealer, we have only a diesel shuttle between Springfield and New Haven. I think my granddaughter took a train from Springfield to Boston, but it was a disaster - a trip that should have been no more than two hours was 5 hours long.

  • Looks like someone forgot to chanage the pusher's light from Headlights to running lights.

  • where is the famous vermonter baggage car with the beautiful paint job???

  • WRRS stands for Western Railroad Supply, a signal manufacturing company which was credited for introducing the first automatic gate/signal combination back in 1936. That signal was called the Model 10, and it is still being made (in a more modern form, of course) by the descendent of WRRS now known as Western Cullen Hayes.

  • MY EYES ಥ_ಥ

  • nice video! the crossing lights lok neat with it kinda dark out, al thats missing is gates with lights-

  • I took this train in 1998 from Newark to White River Junction.

  • I still like the F40PH better than these new crates!

  • Man, a lot of bright red lights. Is one of the signals mounted on its own signal box?

  • @PereMarquette1223 I Think At Some Point It Was A Relay Case, But The Real One IS To The Right.

  • amtrak vermonter the same kind of transport as the amtrak downeaster, just goes a few states towards for it's route?

  • Who could miss them flashing lights? cool as video I like I have subscribed too :)

  • haha what a dork man lol he is waving to the train LOL

  • this dawn or dusk?

  • Dusk, 4:46 PM in the description.

  • @alecrummler0. how did you know that?

  • This Crossing Has 14 Lights! 4 Are 8" and the Rest are 12X24". This Crossing Also Has a WRRS Mechanical Bell. Time: 4:46 Pm. 11/14/07.

  • @alecrummler0. cool, now the reason why i am asking if it is dawn or dusk is becuase at the end of the video i saw some streetlights on? i wanted to know if that was day sky

  • thanks

  • what name of the road your at/

  • This Is Quaboag Street In Three Rivers, MA.

  • NO BELLS

  • God they got enough lights there to get the point across!

  • whe you turn up the volume all the way the bell is WAY TO LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! i remember me driving this train that exact night of 2007!! i remember honking the horn just like that!! i know i had to be in there cause when this was recorded i was in the train THAT exact night!

  • Nice

  • Why do they have lights pointed at the track?

  • I'm sure those lights are there because the crossing is at an intersection and those lights aren't pointed to the track but to the crossing street. Make sense now?

  • ooooooooooh. Ok That makes sense.

  • looks like a christmas tree.

  • The level crossing alarm sounded similar to the ones we use in New Zealand, though I am not sure where I would find a crossing needing 14 lights...

  • Because the train track is in between two roads. (one main road, other street road) They use 14 light so that you can see train crossing lights as you turn into front of crossing the train track.

  • Nice K5LA

  • Sweeet!

  • Push Play.

  • @mommabeardee

Then why would the crossing be activated?

  • WOW 14 LIGHTS NOW THEY NEED GATES!!!

  • 107!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I bet Gianni liked it.

  • Oh Yeah

  • o now i no! i realy did not have to!my friend has one!

  • y dose it do that at 53 sec?

  • the camera was adjusting

  • Are those Ball LEDS?

  • Actually, They Are Incandesent's From Safetran And WCH.

  • what is the light on the silver control box for i saw those the other day in driver ed and the silver box had a white light on it

  • The light tells passing train crews if the crossing has utility power or is operating is battery mode.

If battery mode is indicated, the light will be extinguished or flash or an extra light may brighten. A passing train crew observing battery mode should report it to the dispatcher to ensure the crossing remains powered.

  • Is that right signal a former Wig-Wag?

  • By Looking At It, That's What i Thought Too. Maybe It Was At One Point.

  • I agree with skyman, it looks a lot like it.

  • Engine 107! My engine!

  • I loved that video. I'd like to see more like this. :D

  • One of your best yet! Good job!

  • 14 inch lights????? r u sure they just aren't 12X24. Which ones are 14X20/24?

  • He means there are 14 light total at the crossing.

  • oh, whoops. my bad!

  • @VespineVid2 There's a LOT more than that. Comparing with other vids there's actually 22 lights (11 sets). The 4 lights that are 8" are the two sets of rear lights on the two signals. I'd like to see this crossing with LEDs, it must be a big energy waster.

  • @weatherdan882002 True, I hadn't noticed the additional signals.
