Yes, I love it when the woman quite liberally allows us to view her white knickers on camera, although as the Stylistics' lyrics sung to us, I think that they were brand new rather than already washed in Bio Tex. As a five to eight year old growing up in the early to mid 1980s that advert stuck out as one of the most memorable for obvious reasons...

Victoria Tennant was the female actress in this war drama. Any other programmes she appeared in since then? One of the early Carling adverts with the famous jingle. I wonder who the lady was that said the slogan 'I bet he drinks...

The BioTex ad is a very special early memory for me - always on Thames between Let's Pretend and something with Miriam Stoppard - but I agree that "People Make the World Go Round" is a much better song.

One Summer is a great series. Not sure who this announcer is - it's definitely not one of YTV's big four (Redvers Kyle, Graham Roberts, John Crosse, Paul Lally).
