i agree with green tea. her accent is definitely northern. i speak with an extreme southern accent but know that the Lao language has over 10 dialects/accents. i have a hard time understanding Lao north of Viang myself. but in the end, we're ALL Lao.

what in the world are you talking about? where in this movie is someone trying to sound like something that they are not? khamly does sound lao, maybe not vientiane dialect but maybe more northern lao. ananda sounds thai, because he speaks thai and grew up there.

this movie was meant to unify both cultures, just remember that. i think this movie was amazing overall!

But the thai actor, he's a half lao but he doesn't speak lao. the lao girl act natural.

My question about "Sabaidee Luang Prabang" is why does Abraham (lead actor) doesn't speak Lao. I heard from Matt Laur "Todayshow" that he 1/2 Lao/Australian. Anyone?

maybe because he can't not speak Laos, he was raised in Thailand...Well even though he can't speak Lao I'm sure he can understand it, because the languages are so similar...

But his mom always speak lao with him at home, I don't know, I am khon lao, but I can understand pasa Thai as good as pasa lao. I also can speak Thai very well too. But I never speak because no Thai to speak too.

That's not true. I saw her on youtube being interview by Thai media and she only spoke in Lao even though they were having hard time understanding her. Any other Lao people would have spoken in Thai just to please them.

How many Lao people have you heard speaking in Lao when talking to Thai people? not very many and have you ever heard of Thai speaking Lao to Lao people? No! Some Lao people are all willing or eager to prove that they can speak Thai. It's no rocket science being able to speak Thai if you're Lao.

Alexandra is a great ambassador to Lao nation and Lao people so don't knock her. I think you're suffering from tall poppy syndrome.
