  • @maqsizu Hi, glad you liked the video. Just use any kind of silk, it doesn't matter. Habotai or pongee is a good type to work with. But make sure you buy silk dyes from your supplier, not the paints. Then you can't go wrong. Have fun! :-)

  • Thank You so much for all your videos. All of them was very helpful for me. I started to paint on silk two days ego and I enjoying so much...

    Thanks again!

    Regards,

    Inga

  • @ingajut Hi Inga, such a pleasure to help and so glad you were inspired to start silk painting. Come onto my FB page at Silkandart and let me know how you get on. Or the website in the box above. I love hearing how people experiment and their successes. :-)

  • Hi Fiona - that looks great but can you use the same microwave that you use for food? I have read elsewhere you shouldnt.

  • @bellbrook418 Hi - I never use a microwave and only bought this for the scarves. I've been assured that when cling film is over the bowl, nothing is getting out. However, health and safety. Don't do as I do. Just buy a separate one if you are concerned. :-)

  • Hi Fiona, I dyed 4 silk scarves today. So much fun. I had your video up on my computer, so you 'talked me through it'. Thanks so much for a great tutorial!

    Linda R.

  • @ninisniche Thanks for your comment and so glad you enjoyed this. Have you tried this out yourself? I'd love to hear how it went. Post it on my blog if you do. Have a great day!

  • @alonealotta - you can use any kind at all :-)

  • may I ask what brand of dyes you used...will this work with any steam setting kind of dyes ?

  • @Donna - glad you loved the video. This method is such fun and easy to do. I'll be putting out some more information on this soon.

  • Fiona, I just love listening your voice and watching how you create such beauty! Mesmerizing! You make it look so easy,...I wonder if I could do this??

  • @rita - thanks a lot! Yes, do try it out because you'll be amazed at the results. :-)
