Blair told Todd when she first slept with a broke, down and out Todd, she made a pact of no committment, no love and he in turn said deal. Blair also told him once "she let herself love him" meaning it's not something that naturally happened on it's own. Todd himself has never been enough for Blair that's why what he said to her presently during New Year's makes so much sense to a Todd fan, because she's always wanted the world and for it to revolve around her.
Todd didn't ask Blair to use her crotch to bull doze her way into his life, she came knocking on his door. Blair is the one who found out that he was a Lord Heir and lied about being pregnant with his son so he would marry her, so she could stake claim to his MONEY, Todd didn't ask for that it's just the raw hand out of many that life dealt him and it's how I see T&B. To quote Todd when talking about Blair "some mistakes are so big you can't get rid of them no matter what you do."
I believe Todd was a grown man who should be responsible for his own life, including his sexuality. It's a cop-out to always blame Blair for his problems. TnB both made many mistakes & did things to hurt each other. But each should be responsible for his/her own lives & futures. Blair did not make Todd sexually/intimately impotent, any more than Marty made him a rapist. It was Todd's choice not to have sex w/Tea. (Marty did not use her traumatic rape as an excuse to be "frigid"; she got help.)
I don't think that it equated that he loved Tea any less because he fell back in the pattern of having sex with Blair. If another man was in Blair's orbit he more than likely had to wait around for her to decide to come back to him after having her fun first, he came back from his union with Tea as glutton for punishment and in 2002 when Tea returned and they argued at La Boule it showed that he was deeply hurt by her leaving him. Todd and Tea were a different breed a different dynamic.
If you notice the mental breakdown he had after Ireland he became even more paranoid about sex even when Blair tried to engage, because he felt it was a trap to play him for a fool, he told her once 'you use that body of yours to manipulate me,' so when Tea came along it was a freshly cut wound she had to help bandage and battle with because it was mental and physical. Tea and Todd's relationship was off screen after they departed in 2000, but Tea left him a fact he made known, sex is sex with B
on the floor making love to Patrick and yes Blair thought he was dead but he had just faught being riddled with 4 bullets and coming back to his wife and baby to find that scene, it mentally messed him up, he came into it with Blair as the same Todd who saw a future of pure honest love with Rebecca, but quickly saw he couldn't have a love like that with Blair and after Patrick and Blair, he never thought he would have it so he shut that part of himself that desired it down to become devoid of it
fairytale he told her so but Rebecca was not able to handle him, she was not mentally well so she ran away, when Blair came along and he forgave her after finding out about her lie to get his money, when he proposed to her he told her that he wanted someone to love, someone to love him, he wanted a home and a family and he wanted it with her and proposed, it seemed he was about to finally have it, then Ireland the thing that hurt the most is that she lied to him about being faithful, he saw her.
Cont. Look at how T&B had their first sexual encounter imo it was like she gave him pity sex because the man she truly wanted was Cord, her history with men was beyond rocky and she used sex as a weapon in every single one and it often backfired on her, she went into it with Todd after finding out about his inheritance doing the same even lying to him about being pregnant therefore prompting a gullible Todd to marry her 'to do the right thing.' Going all the way back to Rebecca Todd wanted the..
You're well-spoken & make a good case. I respect your opinions, but often disagree with you. Todd cared about Tea, but didn't make love w/her because deep down it didn't feel right to him. I believe it was because his love for her was platonic. Blair shouldn't be blaimed. Later, in 2000, Todd still refused lovemaking w/Tea. But, he willingly & eagerly made love w/Blair if she simply extended the invitation (no begging). He gazed at her w/his loving, dewey expression. How do you explain that?
@CherokeeRose1207 I agree. I'm mesmerized by RH's talent. I've spent hundreds of hours over many months watching his videos from the beginning of his time on OLTL. Plus, I've begun watching his acting on other shows, like PREY. It's a rare privilege to find such talent. His talent, combined with some of the other actors on the show, and the good writing of the past, is such a treasure. I'm so grateful to noelgirl21 and the others who've spent so much time and hardwork to provide the videos.THX!
@KathieLovesSkittles I agree. Even watching m-videos w/TSJ & Tea show they were happy, in-love, & passionate about each other. What a contrast to TnT, who were in a miserable, destructive relationship. W/Victor, Tea's smiling & lively; her eyes are sparkling w/joy & passion. W/Todd, she was always crying, angry, or struggling in misery. Then, look at TnB together. They lock eyes & gaze at each other lovingly. They couldn't keep their hands or eyes off each other. Life-mates.
@sheashond Since when does making love to some one define love? How about him going to people for advice on how to love her, sending for Sam just so he cant stop the divorce and be with her, creating a personality just to woo her, letting her in and talking to her. All that spells love to me.
@stinasings How about caring about what's important to Tea. Making love was important to her as part of a healthy, happy marriage. A paralyzed man in a wheelchair can have sexual intimacy with his wife. Todd could've made a real effort to have that with Tea. Instead, he avoided her and made excuses. Todd was intelligent, capable, and healthy. He had a good sex life in his first marriage. He could've had that with Tea, and she deserved that. He didn't want a real, adult marriage with her. True.
@sheashond After Todd returned from Ireland he was not having sex with Blair either despite her attempts. Todd was not healthy and if you are watching this and have watched his whole story you can see that. Todd did make real efforts with Tea. Todd honestly couldn't he told Tea "I would if I could," sex hurt, it left him paralyzed and left him assed out he has raped, been manipulated, but once Tea and he remarried for love he had healed enough to take that leap of faith again.
@twbaldwi You're well-spoken & make a good case. I respect you, but often disagree with you. Todd cared about Tea, but didn't make love w/her because deep down it didn't feel right to him. @sheashond Thanks, respect your opinion too but of course don't agree lol. Looking at early Todd going all the way back to Rebecca he was fine and he was ready to try his hand at having a normal life and family to try and move past the rape, but the label of rapist was forever branded upon him making it difficult to establish honest relationships, he never truly trusted people, so when he did it was a big deal. Blair came in and exploited that trust when she told her first lie.
@sheashond I agree. Sex is important in a relatioship. Your comment reminded me of Christopher Reeve & his wife, Dana. He was paralyzed from the neck down & couldn't feel the sensations of lovemaking, but he participated b/c it was important to them. Imagine what he went through to prepare--his catheter had to be removed, he had to be positioned by aids, his breathing apparatus had to be monitored, etc. Todd couldn't be bothered to make any real effort for Tea, who did all for him.
I'm Sorry to ALL THE T&B Fan's...BUt Honestly.Does Blair think she can't take on Todd/Tom/Rodd/Ms.Perkins/Pete ect.. with out losing?
