The property used to have fair gold in the early 80's, but 30 years plus of dredging by countless numbers of persons have cleaned the creek bank to bank and one end to the other.
the gold that was there is long since gone today. Doc Rdgers' Feilds (in the park) has been "steamed and scoured to bedrock" acording to the historical marker.

little river has a good bit of gold in places, Down town Townsend has good sized flakes
but the local law is not friendly to prospectors they invent bogous laws
