OmGOSH! This just struck me like lighting! This was written on the fact that was Gerorge Bush's grandpa that descreated an Indian Burial ground and stole a chief's head! Our history is played out! No wonder popular, they were a nail on the head! LuV 'em!
The part with the bird inside the skull flying around has got to be the funniest thing ever. Now when ever I see a biker with one of those skull patches on with the wings I think of this stooges episode. This howls LOL
midnightmarley - the episode where they go to an island to get a tree is named "Some More of Samoa". It has Curly in it though they remade it with Shemp later on.
this is violent, and incorrect to some huh....shame we have these lovely cartoons on tv for kids that show them getting shot and bleeding etc.....yet this is violent....yea...
That's a great episode. It's funny how you tried to trim it, but you still have people complaining that you cut the best part! One of my favorite parts (that got cut!) is when the suit of armor pays off like a jackpot, and Shemp gets his hat down there SO FAST to catch the coins, and not one coin hits the ground!
The best part of this flick was left out. That was the part when Shemp said to the spook, "Calm yourself, have a smoke". Then Shemp gives the spook a cigarette and the spook starts to smoke. He then starts to cough, and the spook says, "Sorry gentlemen, I haven't had a cigarette in a 1000 years". Shemp then replies, "Oh, do you think he's old enough to smoke?" Moe then slaps Shemp across the face. Now that was funny! Why was it cut out!!??
YouTube's max time for a single vid is 10 minutes. I had to edit the 16 minute episode down to fit so a couple of funny bits were cut out. Sorry it was your favorite part of the skit! :(
Man, I remember seeing this same exact episode like 15 years ago. My dad and I watched as many Stooges series as we could. They were just the best! Thanks for posting this.
I edited this to fit YouTube's 10 min. time limit per video, not to avoid copyright infringement. I hated to do it but it was just too long (by 6 min.). Sorry if I cut any favorite scene of yours! :(
Great Show- having being raised in the USA everyone has always loved the stooges.
But please - don't worry about editing these vids because they are now public domain and we don't have to worry about copyright violations!! Do what every you want, who cares!
Curly suffered ill health starting in 1942. By 1945 he checked himself into a hospital. It is believed that this was the first in series of strokes that he suffered in his final years. He continued to work & had a massive stroke on the set in May, 1946. He had a second massive stroke in 1949, the year this skit was filmed, & became partially paralyzed. He was confined to a wheelchair by 1950 & lived his last years in a series of nursing homes & hospitals. Curly died at age 48 on 18 Jan 1952.
He was no doubt my favorite! He was funnier than Shemp. He was the best in my book. That don't mean Shemp was not good he was better than the other two that followed. Joe and Curley Joe. Both were stupid in my book!
Wow!! (zuebee) great info about curly,i was wondering when he died.Hey can you tell me when shemp died, his age when he died, and what did he died from.
Shemp Howard (Samuel Horwitz) died 22 Sep 1955 of a massive heart attack at age 60 in Hollywood, CA. He suffered a mild stroke in Nov 1952 but continued to make shorts with the Three Stooges. He was the older brother of Moe & Curly Howard and was the "third" stooge on their original stage act.
thanks bro,i was wondering when larry died and i want to know if joe was gay.The reason why i asked that because joe always used that phrase(cut it out !!).
Larry Fine (Louis Fienberg) died 24 Jan 1975 at age 72. He was a professional violinist in addition to being a boxer before joining the Howard brothers. As for Joe being gay, I've not heard that one but I know he was married. Who knows?
Thanks again bro for the information about the stooges.I was wondering when Moe died and what did he died from? And oh yeah you still didn't tell me what larry died from.
Larry had several strokes & was confined to a wheelchair the last 5 yrs of his life. Moe (Moses Harry Horwitz) died 4 May 1975 at age 77 of lung cancer; he was a lifelong smoker.
If you want to get technical, Shemp was first. Shemp was replaced by curly back in the pre-Columbia Ted Healy days, then returned to replace Curly after his stroke.
Thank You! hadn't seen this in years :) I thought you did a great job editing the short down for the silly 10 minite limit! All the highlights were present and accounted for; loved the skeleton(s), especially enjoyed seeing the parrot flying skull bit again :)
The flying skull was the bit I remembered from seeing this as a kid in the early days of TV. It was fun to see the whole skit again. I hope I didn't cut anyone's favorite bit out but that's how it goes. There is no other group of guys like the Three Stooges! :-D
The flying parrot skull is seen in "When A Body Meets A Body." This has the skull with an owl in it - seems like the writers of Stooges have a thing for skulls flying about with birds of various sorts inside of them! But right, very enjoyable - fond memories of watching these spooky episodes when I was a kid.
I had to take out 6 minutes to fit YouTube specs. It was mainly the bits where the Stooges kept telling each other the suit of armor talked. Sorry if it made the story line harder to follow! :(
I found mine on a DVD titled "The Three Stooges: Spook Louder" which I rented from Netflix. It has several Stooges shorts: Spook Louder; Mummy's Dummies, Shivering Sherlocks, The Ghost Talks, Hokus Pokus and Fright Night (with Shemp premiering as a Stooge). You can find it on Amazon for under $10.00.
To me, comparing Curly and Shemp is like comparing John Bonham and Neil Peart; they both have their minor diffrences that set them apart but they're both the best in the business.
Lady Godiva with clothes on? It must have been because it was The Three Stooges and it would not have cool for a buck naked Lady Godiva on their comedy shorts.
I've been looking everywhere for this! Does anyone know which other stooge ep has a flying skull in it? There's no fabric hanging in that one... My son got one of those dumb Avenged 7-fold logos tattooed on his arm, and well, he deserves to know..
Red Skeleton huh? I love it. Check out Larry's reaction to Shemp saying that. The one that tells them "go away boys you bother me" sounds like Bud Abbott. It's not but it sounds like him.
What's really a kicker is that Shemp (Samuel Horwitz) was multi-phobic and many who knew him jokingly said he was even afraid of his own shadow. Makes me wonder... how he did he handle filming this story line?
