BurnsErnst Im 62 years old and you are only the third person Ive heard who plays it like the Maestro Arthur Smith himself. Beautiful this is going to be 1 of my favourites, thankyou for this.
Sir, this instrument is made for people like you. Play by ears are people who are more talented than people who play by notes. You are excellent, when you play Shadows' pieces, you sound like Hank Marvin. When you play Duane Eddy's, you sound like him. Now when you play Arthur Smith's, you also sound exactly like him. People who love guitar music, will love listening to your music. Good thing that computer is invented and Youtube, everyone gets to enjoy hearing to music old and new.
Keep up the Awesome instrumentals! If you have the time you might consider some of the following. Rawhide (Link Wray), Wild Weekend (Rockin Rebels) Lets Go (The Routers). Great sound, keep Rockkkkkkkkin!!!!! Harleygeezer
thats really good man.. dont worry abt the tone.. it sounds great!
i kinda play this number with my dad.. i just wanna knw wht scales u use.. cz i just wanna do a free improvisation bt cudnt find a scale that fit in perfectly with all the chords.. do u change from using Emaj to the Amaj scale along with chord change.. or just use one scale over all chords? its not possible to just use the C#minor pentatonic over the whole progression is it?
Hi Ernst! I do agree with donnoyo! Thisone really brings Athur´s name up! Sounds like you said, like old times!Super job! Sound just a little low, but nothing wrong with it! Rythm is impressive! Take care of those fingers! Never peal potatoes or use any hammers!! Keep on playing!
the guitar solo is okay, but i think the backing track lacks the boogie beat and up tempo.

hi , sorry - I don`t even know what "scales" are or " pentatonic."
I play everything by ear and autodidactic.
Therefore I just play along what I hear.

Yes, this is slightly different to the Ventures, Aurthur smith probably did it earlier, it's an all time favorite to the guitairist! Enjoy it!

You messed up the ending a tiny bit but it was a very nice rendition. Arthur would have liked that, I'm sure.

Too cool. You have to be one real serious music fan to even know about this tune and you pulled off a nifty version of it.
