  • Where could I email pics to you? I'm happy to share!

  • Thanks for this! I redid my entire basement (which was cinderblock, actually) and ended up doing a little over 1000 bricks using this method. Everyone who's seen it can't believe it isn't ACTUAL brick.

  • @MAMAFRUITCAKE Thank you... I would love to see pictures or video. I'm glad it worked for you :)

  • Sure... it's a painting technique over plaster. In this video the plaster texture behind the faux finished bricks only added to the depth of the bricks. Try getting smaller samples of paint and test your technique in a corner. Then go gang busters when you have the colors correct and a technique that works. Let me know what happens :)

  • nice work you think it would work for people whom want to do the old world look like brick an plaster ???

  • @brokendolltoplaywith Yes... and have fun with it. This is simply a painting technique laid upon previous brick and plaster. The waves, motion, and texture of the plaster was not made by me. Those patterns in the end helped the faux finish and mural look more real.

  • shit

  • why i couldnt watch this video? got noise :(

  • Not sure. Maybe you need to reload the page. The video is working on my end. @rnbtisha

  • @ANTworkstudio thx 4 ur reply..unfortunately i still couldnt watch this video..the weird thing ..i could watch other videos.. :(

  • TOLEDO!

  • I want to paint my cinder block foundation to look like river rocks but can't find any information online how to do it. Wish you could make a video of that.

  • I'll see if I can find a cinder block foundation wall someone will let me paint. @gabbie3939

  • for the brick, are you using wet on wet technique? is the towel dry?

  • @onthinice766 - The towel is dry. Using a dry towel helps the paint dry faster, thus laying down more colors and layers quickly.

  • good job.

  • thanks alot for getting me started and saving me some money dude!

  • Ugh! Fake bricks!

  • Painting a castle wall: If the outside in the weather use satin exterior paint. You can use the paint specs below for inside applications. Using the same technique described in the video and all you need to do is expand the size of your brick/stone to the size you want. Pick the colors you want: One dark color, one medium color, and one light color. You might want to find some pictures of the castle stone wall you want to try. Use this picture as your guide.

  • any advice on painting a castle like wall its exterior on a kiddies fort

  • OMG!!! Fantastic!!!Thank you.... great work!

  • Thank you for this!!

I'm going to paint one wall in my room faux brick, hopefully this weekend.

This is immensely helpful, keep it up! :)

  • great job!

  • Paint used: Valspar American Tradition paint from Lowe's (the better the paint, the better the results)

    Base color: Florentine Clay #2003-5B

Accent colors: Gardener's Soil #2010-9, plus black, white, and red

    Flat finish (brick isn't shiny)

If you use "eggshell" instead of flat paint you will be able to clean the faux finished brick a lot easier and stands the test of time better. I hope this helps :)

  • very nice what are the color you used for this project?

for the base coat it 's what finish, thx
