Most Shield scenes are like a minute or so, so you know when they drag a scene out for like 9 minutes, you know some shit is about to go down...... "We're gonna find out who did this..... And we're gonna kill him...." as it cuts to black with Shane in the frame..... When season 6 started after the hiatus, and the story picked up, I almost had a heart attack when that shaky "The Shield" logo popped up on my TV during the intro.

Yeah it was surprisingly tense. The Sopranos gets pretty climatic in Season 6 part 2 and it didn't even come close to The Shield's level of intensity. And I was surprised to find out this show beat The Sopranos for an emmy the first season it was out. I'm proud of that I must say.

@Grungadin Hell yeah dude. I am a HUGE Sopranos fan as well. Went on the Sopranos tour that started in downtown Manhattan and then you ride the bus through the same tunnel in the opening credits. A lot of stops at a lot of the sites where major scenes were filmed. The grand finale, I'm sure you can guess, was at the Bada Bing. Actually a real strip clup in Lodi, New Jersey. It's called "Satin Dolls". Sopranos ended fittingly, I guess. But I still can't believe how amazing the Shield ended

Watch "The Rest Will Follow" on the Craig Furguson show. In the build-up starting at 2:54 one of the drummers does a fast roll on the snare while the other drummer does a slower roll on his floor tom with a hit to his crash cymbal. Stuff like that is why they need two drummers. Nothing mindblowing, but a great effect overall.
