  • kinda like carnival of venus

  • HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE TO MAKE THOSE NOISES i play the french horn and i ve never heard anything like that

  • @yellowpigsroc4 Go explore the horn, you don't have enough experience :D Even I am exploring my horn after playing it for 1.5 years

  • @archersinner You will never stop exploring... even professionals have to constantly keep working, and "exploring".

  • @archersinner LOl and u would with 1.5 years?

  • @yellowpigsroc4 You sing while you play... that's those Sounds.

Listen to Concertino from Carl Maria von Weber... it's in the Cadenza.

  • is that a double, triple, or descant?

  • @ILovePeanutButer7181 Looks like a double... it's definitely no descant.

  • ah hahaha I wish I had a freakin awesome teacher that could play this.

  • lol its funny seeing your embouchre change for like every note after the multiphonics :P

  • lol!

  • very nice!

  • You just amazing dude! Your a big inspiration and every time i see this i want to play more =)

  • i like your multiphonics and double buzz skills.

  • horn1palmer you pl;ay beautifully do you play proffesionally and by the way can you give me some tips on how to double tongue thanks. Please answer!!!

  • tucka tucka tucka, fool :)

  • very nice horn1palmer, since you are a french horn teacher can you give me some tips on how to double tounge?

  • please answer!!!

  • practice by saying "ticket ticket ticket" over and over, faster and faster

Then to get the legato sound out of a double toungue, you practice by saying

digguh digguh digguh, just do that and you will see results within a day or so.

Keep doing it and it will just get cleaner and cleaner.

Once i get a horn, i'll have to put up some of my work.

  • in his defense, this is youtube not an audition. Great stuff, made me smile.

  • man that was sick!

  • fun

  • hahaha, that was awesome!

  • Is playing the french horn part of your carreer, or just a hobby?

  • Teaching brass is my passion, career, and life.

  • I thought so, Are you a school teacher? If so, where did you go to college? (P.S.- I want to become a music teacher myself, and am thinking about Potsdam)

  • I teach privately.

What matters most in a music school is the average general ability of the students and the level of competition between the students.

Competition is what makes this country what it is.

  • Hey man.

I gotta say, I've watched your videos, and the things you do are pretty impressive. I haven't heard that kind of stuff in any of the auditions I've won, or any of the professional orchestras I've played in.

You obviously have a lot of talent. But it takes more than that to compete and win. It takes discipline. I'm sure you have that too.

  • So let's see you take your enormous talent and win a big job somewhere. It would be a shame to just confine your abilities to your room there where you film this stuff.

I wanna disagree with you on one thing: It's not competition that makes this country great. What makes America great is that it is a place that gives people the opportunity to rise as high as they can through talent AND hard work.

And usually, hard work will get you farther than talent.

  • Thanks, and good point about that last thing.

  • i switched from clarinet to frech horn..b/c i thoguht the french horn was an awesome instrument :] i practice my french horn everyday!!

  • That's what I like to hear.

  • Wow!... I'm a beginer french horn player and was wondering how you got those High notes..... I can even play a High E flat right.

  • Don't get thin as you go up.

    Keep it fat!!!

  • People like you make me want to stop playing! =)

  • I'm sorry!!!

I just wanted to try to inspire people by showing what the instrument can do.

email me and maybe I can help you get fired up!!!!

  • tee hee! That made my day.

  • what type of mouthpiece are you playing with?

  • everyone should use Laskey Mouthpieces

  • why?

  • It was there?

  • hehe mutiphonics are pretty fun :-P oops... no more magic

  • how do you play the different tones at once?

  • Magic!

  • I didn't know Harry Potter played French Horn :o

  • You can call me Dumblehorn!

  • you sing while playing....

  • i can do that im lin jiang from the west australian symphony orchestra and im right next to barry tuckwell

  • HAHAHAHA that kicked ass.

  • Are you splitting the pitch with your embuchour, or are you sing whilist playing.

I've seen both used in certain peices, but I can't tell.

    Oh and BTW Very Awsome.

  • Thanks!

Splitting pitches doesn't allow you to play whatever notes you like.

  • Hahaha!

    XP- ugh.

Nice and awful at the same time.

  • sobrao de la vida!

  • WOW!!!!!

  • I like your use of parallel tritones!

  • They're actually similar 3rds.

  • Great!
