I think we are misunderstanding one another. Let me attempt to be more specific. I am a fan of deciding what is true based on actually running tests and having others measure for the same, so repeatable tests. So I am trying to bring to light the point that the material world and the world of philosophies, abstractions, ect. are two different systems of measurement. Just because there is a story of reptiles in another dimension we have to base human evolution on measurements and not stories.

I am trying to say that western thought in the days of Aristotle was based at arriving at truths based on sound logical arguments and not tests. And I am all for everything we know now being utterly wrong too just as long as better measurements and observations prove previously held truths unreliable.
