I am not tring to upset any one but I think that some times we need to look at the bigger picture. Look out side the box. This world is a volital place we live in and so many people don't realize that this will help out our country. Yes there is risk involved , there is a risk to all of us just getting out of the house. By the way, They do stop driving on these roads when the busses are out on these roads for the safty of the children. Speed is also monitored very closely. I hope this helps.
@annacharley I agree with you that we must think outside the box. That is why I believe that we need to develop sustainable energy and to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels. Change is difficult and it will take time. Having a culture accept changes in something as important as energy will be a huge accomplishment to achieve. However, I believe with education and persistence we will eventually succeed. I thank you again for participating and for caring.
The concerns about the drinking water and the animals and the trees I understand, but there is pros and cons in what we do in every day life as well. Think about all things not just drilling for gas. How about people that clear out trees to build a house. How is that different? A septic system that leaks, better yet what about nuclear waste? I worry about that more then drilling for gas. I believe that we do need this. I think we need to look at more deadly things then drilling for gas.
@annacharley It is our responsibility to protect the land, water, air, food, wildlife, neighbors, and it is our responsibility not to continue with the technology that has polluted our life sources. I strongly believe that we should be reducing the use of fossil fuels every single day. We have all the gas we need for many years to come and that time will give us the opportunity to advance the technologies on sustainable energies.
I would rather have the noise untill they are done to get the gas so we can stop worring about sending our kids to the middle east to fight other countries so they can free up water ways just so we can get oil to turn into gas and other things to survive. I know for a fact that these people have been hiring to give people jobs but they can not take every one with out being cautious in who they take, I don't want some that takes drugs to work on a gas drilling site.
@annacharley If you google military and solar power you will see that the military is the biggest purchaser of solar powered technology. The military knows that most lives lost are due to the soldiers having to guard the fuel trucks so they are trying very hard to have solar powered equipment for everything the soldiers need - it is way cool and so very promising
My husband works for the gas drilling companys and it is not what people think it is... I used to think the same way. The gas companys HAVE to get permission from the property owners befor they can even think about drilling. THey also give the owners money to be on the property, The trees will grow back and the animals will come back. As far as the trucks go there is strict rules that they have to go by, There are mandatory classes that they have to go to. ops have to make another note above....
@annacharley I hope that your husband has a successful and safe career. I know a farmers's property that there was a spill on over 25 years ago - the grass is just starting to return. And the farmer was not allowed to ever farm on that land again.
I find your comments and complaints priceless..."function of trees to clear our air." You cannot be serious There are millions of acres of trees the small fraction removed is negligable on air quality If they were to clear all of PA perhaps
Homes for wildlife...you act as if animals do not move In fact take a trip out to see the windmills Ive seen numerous bear, deer and turkey sitting at the base while they were in full spin. the animals will return Ive witnessed it
I am sorry you do not agree with me, but I welcome different points of view - it creates good dialogue. I also welcome research and education on all topics. I do hope you watched Part 2. Again I thank you for taking the time and concern in watching this video.
I have been told the pipelines may be temporary, however, if they are there for the life of the well how long with that be? months? years? Also, what happens when the pipes leak, break, hit by a snow plow, hit by a car, etc? I found the pipelines to be very numerous and invasive.
Please watch part 2 - The clearing of the trees is very important due to 1) the functions the trees have for cleaning our air 2) homes for wild life 3) the increased amount of wind 4) the beauty of the countryside. The trucks affect the air quality, noise, traffic and the damage that will continuously happen to the roads. I questioned what was happening to the residual waste wanting to know where it was going. Was it being disposed of in a safe, legal, proper manner?
The reason why the gas pipeline cannot go near a sluice pipe is because of the local government's code requires the gas pipe be laid 25 foot from the sluice pipe. According to my source the local government does not want to encounter a gas pipe when maintaining/digging the sluice pipe.

I watched twice Where is the "dangerous" part you eluded to in the title The trucks? The clearing of land?
You reffered to the pipes laying on the ground going for miles...numerous times...You do realize they are not permanent ... do you not?

I will watch again...but where exactly is the "dangerous" part as your title suggests
The clearing of trees?? The trucks??? or what you reffered to as the residual waste they were supposedly dumping
Please explain why a "pipeline can not go near a sluece pipe"
