I found this song because the Nancy version was in Kill Bill, which is an awesome movie, and this song was next on the playlist, and I like this version better than Nancy's. But Cher's voice sounds good even though she was in like her early teens when she sang this.
I'm not sure which I like better but I know Nancy's version is way more available with better quality sound. This one's better than the other 45 version
Sonny Bono wrote a very beautiful melody there, but its seductive melancholy isn't truly achieved until Nancy Sinatra sings it over those lonely, reverb-haunted electric guitar chords.
There's a lot of spring reverb on that sucker as well, but you are very correct... it's just "tremolo haunted" chords didn't seem to sound as good to me.
Really nice to hear Cher's original version. The many, many stage performances just aren't the same. There is a unique quality to the original. Thanks for posting!
I love Cher. Nancy is shit

I like Nancy Sinatra's cover best, but Cher's original is MUCH better than her remake.

@resuort This was recorded in 1965, so Cher would have been 18 or 19, so she would be in her late teens. Sorry, I meant late teens not early teens.

You're confusing tremolo with Reverb.

Although now it seems kinda nice.
