I do too! It's interesting to hear this rare original version, and how The Carpenters created a new arrangement and made it their own. I gotta hand it too you; Paul Williams, though small in size(5'), is HUGE on talent! Two other of his songs 'Rainy Days and Mondays" and "I Won't Last a Day Without You" were also remade by Richard and Karen. There will never be another songwriter like Paul!
Hi there !! I have another request for you my friend. mmm I´m searching for a song named "Sunrise celebration" performed by Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass. I.m not sure if the name is right but anyway I hope you may reply me. Thanks again !! :=)
Thanks for posting it. I've been searching for this song in its original version for years... I really appreciate this effort by you my friend. Thank you once again :=)
Where would Karen Carpenter be without Paul Williams's great LYRICS ?? Who the heck knows but as they say, THE REST IS HISTORY !!

This is good. Tastefully laid back. These guys were in hot form during this period. Dig the bass and the organ at 1.42.

The song originally debuted in a commercial for Crocker National Bank in California in the late winter of 1970, with Williams providing the vocals.
