ребята, по-моему уже всем известно, что если вода начинает странно себя вести, например, уходить от берега, то надо уе..вать - это предвестник цунами. а вы стоите глазеете "интересно-то как, а что дальше будет?". А дальше будет ж..па..
Dude if the tide receded like that when I was at a beach... No matter where I was, something in the back of my head would be saying haul ass outta there (or at least to much higher ground) right off the bat. + I'd tell anybody I knew to stay away for a while just in case.
are you people forgetting this was in 2004?,back then people weren't as aware of tsunamis as they are now,and this is what really woke people up and made people aware.There is something called high tide and low tide and they probably thought that was the case and by the time they realized it wasn't that it was too late
@Str8talk50 Most people where tourists. I'm shure they know what a tsunami is. I bet you, if 1 man started to scream 'ruuuun, tsunami coming' all would have started to run away. It's a brain trigger.
@Gehenna71 I thought I knew what a tsunami was too until I saw these clips from the 2004 boxing day tsunami,and realized that all tsunamis don't come in like they do in hollywood movies(a huge wall of water) they can come in like normal waves that don't stop
@Str8talk50 Yea I know. Landslides (or impacts from space debry) give a wall of water, earthquakes give waves. So I discovered yesterday. One is never to old to learn :) I thought they always come in waves and walls are from hollywood movies. Nono, the walls of water are very real too! (scares the shit out of me you know)

Those who understand Russian can hear as the wife of my friend expresses fear, anxiety and worry when the ocean receded, while my friend carelessly jokes about the earthquakes and possibility not to survive until tomorrow. He "theoretically" knew what is going to happen and nevertheless did nothing about it. They were lucky to escape to a high ground in the last moment.
