$120K - so yours may a bit farther off than you had originally thought. I have a 1999 911 996 Cab and I absolutely love the car. I can't imagine how much better these new 911's are. Mine as a paltry 305HP (380 on the 2009) but there are few things I enjoy more than dropping the top and hitting the back roads and hearing the awesome sound of that flat 6.

how can u say that an LP640 is almost as fast an M6!?!? That was a cerebral typo on your part. I know that the turbo is faster than the 430. the F1 gearbox is also fast on the 430, 599, 612, and even the 360C and CS of yesteryear. On the regular 360 it was only slightly faster than the 355 but it was still a misbehavor.

are they double clutch? i don't think so.i think that they're just the result of decades of experience. if you look back at ferraris of 10 yrs ago or even the F1 355, they're quite slow in comparison to what ferrari offers today...i rode in 355 F1spyder,believe me, i wsn't paying attn to the speed of the shifts if not the shriek of the engine. i raced an f430 in08 &the shifts sounded fast and very solid as if the metal used was from the hardest metal u can imagn. i lost in my 88 rx7.

i'm firm believer that sedans should be automatic and the small sports car should have a manual. ever since i triedDSG in the V8 S4 i admit i was impressed. i love doing my own rowing but i'd hate to lose to someone with the PDK (if i were in that position that is). but the counterintuitiveness of the PDK dissuades me. other cars that really seal the deal when selling sequential automatics over the manual counterpart: ferraris and M5. the current 911,not so sure.give'm some time to get it right.

The 911 with PDK is finally the car I have waited for - I'm really not sure how it can get any better. With its reliability, economy and timeless styling, you can keep for 10+ years.

However, given the relatively steep price, waiting 2 years and getting a CPO version, with its 6 yr/100K warranty, would probably be advisable.

backseats only for kids, although foldable and create excellent extra luggage space. They are less comfortable on the cabrio than in the coupe (they are too upright due to the foldable top). It is MUCH faster than a Vantage, although some wld say a Vantage looks better (I agree). Unfortunately, there is a gigantic waiting list on the Vantage (a year or more in most parts of the world). Also, the Vantage has no bakseats... You sure don`t know much about these cars.

Let's see... The GN ran mid 14s stock, this runs mid 12s. The GN had a 3.8L V6 with a pair of turbos, this makes more with a 3.8L flat six and no power adder.

So not only are you entirely wrong about the GN being faster (it's anything but), you are also sick in the head thinking the GN is about displacement. It's a 231 cubic inch V6!

LOOKS - As usual great on character, but if u really think about other brands, the 911 doesnt look sexy or good, just got its own look + character which owners love to death.

Performance - Very good, considering its a soft top. but i just dont like the engine in the boot.
