  • 6:59 was a fail, other than that, spectacular performance.

  • this Boston show was january 19th 2009....during that time and a little alter on his voice was in the best shape i think.

  • about a month later i fell in love with metallica and now im pissed i never went

  • Metallica actually starts playing at 0:57.

  • since some years metallica tune their guitars down to eb

  • that song's tuned down, seems like james can't reach the high notes with his voice anymore. sad but true ;D

  • Lars sucks a drumming holy SHIT !

  • lars is one lazy shit nowadays. he was the beast on 80`s but he started to slack and u see the results...

  • Yeah i don't even think he plays the eighth notes on the hi-hat during the beat with his toms.

  • Dude the quality of this sucks just buy the live dvds or something. Hes plays fine. You just cant here it well with the crap quallity, You know just sending hate comments gives the videos more views, its really a waist of time.

  • @vayrynj dude, in one point you are right, but you have to understand that Lars is getting old, and he cannot do the same thing that he had done on the 80's, but you can steel year him with double bass sometimes, like here in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2007 he used a good double bass and done a great job, 2009 was pretty good too, 2010, on the 2 days, man he kicked ass.

  • I jusr tealize that lately they have been playing a lot of justice, maybe at least THEY realizr what a great album justice is. Personally it's my favorite album, complex, full of solos and awesome riffs.

  • haha i would assume they are starting to play it now because they wanna challenge themselves

  • SnakeVanHalen, i completely agree with you! I love that album so much! Hopefully they'll play some songs from it this sunday in Mtl =D

  • And Justice for All > Kill'em All = Master of Puppets > Ride the Lightning = Black Album, as for their main albums.

So hard to choose xD. AJFA is impressive, KeA COULD WAKE THE DEAD !!! MoP is lengendenray, RtL and BA are awesome.

  • I went to the NJ one february 1st 2009

  • mrmaidenfan666--Dude i love metallica, but how the fuck is lars and better drummer and kirk a better guitarist? seriously.

  • metallica is much better now compered to the 80 not as good songs but hetfield voice is better and rob is better than jason(but cliff is the best) kirk is much better at playing guitar and ulrich is a better drummer

  • agreed ... of course there better at playing .. just not as good as they were at writeing music ! still love most of the new album .

  • Lars is good, but his snare doesn't sound as good because he hits it so freaking hard! He spends more energy on his snare when it should be on the kick pedal... But who am I or anyone else to say what Metallica is to be!?!?

Nicko McBrain is sill good too. R.I.P Clive Burr (Maiden) and Cliff Burton. And for Megadeth fans R.I.P Gar Samuelson (heh, rust in peace).

It's been forever since they last played this song! AWESOME!!!

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST Clive Burr isn't dead. I looked a couple places and I found no information about his death. Not on the Maiden website, not on any metal website like Metal Hammer or anyplace like that.

  • @Georgio448

Yeah, I was a stupid person last year and didn't know that. And now that I'm re-reading my comment I feel stupider. Well, that was last year.

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST It's alright, there's a lot of stuff I don't know.

  • O.o uhm, I'm a huge undying fan of Metallica but that's rather ridiculous to claim they're better now then in the 80's. Especially with regards to James' voice and Ulrichs' drumming skill. With Jason and Rob it's more contested, and that comes down to opinion(I personally prefer Jasons live attitude and vocals over Robs pure talent).

  • well james got better voice now but i agree about lars his not so good anymore but rob will always be at better bassist and singer than jason and thats why i think he is better jason got the best live attitude

  • Finally someone whos real, james is awesome, about lars hes hitting more of the double pedals than you can hear watch the mexico dvd performance and trapped under ice. If you wanna hear lars tweak. Its sweet

  • There to different to compare I think the old live performances were awfull vocally. No offense but thats just like you said an oppinion.

  • i was at the show it was amazing

  • Dude same! The That Was Just Your Life lazer thing was so awesome!!

  • even with a different style to the old version still sounds incredible live. i may see them live one day

  • i was at that show

  • damn i didnt think they would play this song in this tour

    pretty badasss they did it

  • The part when he sings '...And Justice For All!' Just before the solo kicked in should of been on the album, sounded epic!

  • metallica never aged a small bit.

sound may evolved but they still kick ass at their old school album

  • They have got some mighty big cajones to try and play this 20 years after making the album. Props to them for using their whole catalogue to keep the shows amazing.

  • You can't fuckin hear those fuckin double basses...

  • the guitars r tuned lower than the album.......

  • everything in the 90s about lars for great his kit sound his playign ability i blame his ahead sticks there actually really heavy

  • i wish lars was young again but drumming can be very physical especially when playing 9 minute metal songs

  • Fucking awesome, Justice is one of their best stuff...

  • little mistake at 07:00 ??

  • Yes, lars fucked it up -.-' but i must say its not a really easy song to play live on drums

  • Actually its very hard. Extremely weird time signatures. And the chorus is double bass and rolls. The bass drum during the verse is also pretty tough to nail. Check it out.

  • holy crap. video length is 9:11

  • really tight but i still have a problem with lars's sound

    best live band ever

  • I just noticed that they look out the last part before the outro where he sings " Seeking no truth, winning is all, find it so grim so true so real " Oh well, still an awesome performance.

  • Such an awesome fucking song. James voice is just getting better and better these days.

  • You can tell that the intro to justice is being played on a tape, then they kick into the rock riff.
