Toss can crank out much more immortals than you can crank out thors had tyler just gone for a heavier immortal composition his timing attack would be much earlier than thorzain not allowing thorzain to have that critical amount of thors + when you lose your mech army you lose it... it takes forever to remake a mech army

it might take forever to remake a mech army, but it also takes forever for a protoss army to destroy a mech army. Thors break forcefields rendering all the sentries useless, splash from the thors makes zealots worthless, vikings snipes collossi which is the heavy support for the gateway units, zealots and stalkers just melt against thors. Don't forgot, blue terran had +2 armor for mech meaning they can take quite alot of hits and i think i saw a few scvs in the back repairing

Scout mech, toss response: keep going anti low hp units build. Get raped, toss response nº2: try again with imortals ( that get hammered by thor helion ) that counter tank.

This game proves how weak toss players are, note to toss, next time you see that comp try to go for mass void and magic box a bit...

Hellions are shit versus Immortals, Colossi actually beat Thors in mass because of the range and mobility of Colossi that doesn't allow all the Thors to attack while the Colossi can. Not many people (if any) know the proper unit composition to deal with late game mech. The proper response is to never let it kick in because once they reach critical mass, they do a ridiculous amount of damage. And Void Rays are useless when you have constant reactored Viking production.

Ok youre right :P Immos are not THAT good but they are a bit cheaper so they are worth getting vs Thors, he went waaaaaay to heavy on the collosi. Collosus can be a pretty good counter vs the thors with some zealot support but the Thorzain just had to many + the helions roasted the zealots in a sec.

I hate how the casters of the TSL3 pretend that this is live. I watched it when it was live on UStream and Thorzain needed to pause to change a hotkey, and Day9 was all like "WOAH THAT WAS THE FASTEST PAUSE I HAVE EVER SEEN." Then I believe at the end of the WhiteRa-MC series, Day9 also said that they were getting word from the Refs if WhiteRa dc'd or not. You can see by the end of each game that it says "Replay Complete." The games are awesome, the casting is great, it just bugs me a little.

Blink Stalker + Immortal + High Templar and a Sentry or two would've worked better for Tyler. Blink Stalkers + a few force fields to protect the HTs and Immortal Hardened Shields from the Hellions, feedback spam to negate the Strike Cannons from the Thors, Immortals as the main fighting unit vs. the Thors.

want to know what's wrong? Tyler played way too passively, he played the same boring style as he showed on his stream, 1 gate, 1 robo, expo and 2 additional gates, and stuck there forever, making 3 units & 1 colosus at a time.

At 13-14 min into a game, a good protoss is supposed to have a gateway explosion (at least into 8-9 gates) before attack so that a shitload of unit can be warped in faster for reinforcement. Those 3 factories in the main was so easy to deal with blink harass early on.
