In my case, when I was a witness for such a kidnapping, it happend only once in my surrounding, 15-18 years ago, and the girl left, because during 3 days that she stayed in the place of the"groom", she made all people clear she won't stay. And I was really impressed by her, and it was the brightest impression from my childhood.

1) It has nothing to do with Islam, and these people are not muslims, they are nomands

2) There is such a practice, however it is not widely used.

3) This tradition of kidnapping is supposed to have more depth - it was supposed to be romantic and beautiful tradition, like a play, where each character plays his/her own role, but of course with consent of each party.

that's what pisses me off about it, calling it a 'tradition'. if there's a tradition that violates one's rights as a human being, they need to fucking break from it. there were some cases when things ended happily, but for the most part they did not. seeing one documentary of it just appaulls me, even as a young man. ppl these days need to stop bitching about petty things like claiming "RE5 is racist!!!" and focus on removing practices like this and burying kids alive from this world
