this guy is the real deal - unfortunate he shares a name with Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward- u little !@#$% take your hero worship too seriously - you're the musical equivalents of religious extremists - stay in the dark ages, the world doesn't he enough retards.
I will be honest with everyone, I really like this guys drumming. Its very creative and something I never hear anyone else doing. Its really nice and jazzy and funky and cool. :)
fukin hell all u guys think u all are so experienced... ha this guy is just one of the most wanted recording session artists and has personally one of the most creative ways of expressing himself on the drums...dnt compare him to other people guys...hes his own drummer with his own style
Ya but you never SEEN him play live so your opinion isnt completely realistically based.. Page PRODUCED all the albums so he wanted Bonham to sound.. yes i am a drummer ive played for 12yrs.. ive also seen his son Jason play several times and he too is a fantastic drummer..
Your wrong Bonham is one of the best.. you have no videos of your own to show how great 35yrs of drumming has made you.. Your just an internet bully with nothing better to do than bash ppl's icon.. Tell Ian Paice Carmine Appice, Danny Carey and many others bonham isnt close to being the best and i Guarentee they'd all beat your ass
@HawkwindMaster I like the intro/outro groove, it's killer. But I agree...the solo itself is almost as boring as Iron Butterfly. "blickem-blickem-blickem" zzzz.
Many of my family members have seen John play live and all said the same thing.. he was an extreme power house hard to be beat.. to say john is the best is long shot.. but he certainly ranks up there with Buddy Rich and many other awesome drummers
You're right... Coz it's Bill"y" Ward. Jazz drumming/ Creative Percussions extraordinaire. Would've been less embarrassing if you never have said "idiot" and "fuckhead".
6ace6frehley6 dude, i hope you're not serious about what you said on john bonham, you clearly don't have any notion whatsoever concerning drums, drummers and the quality of the music produced by them, i can be my life that if john bonham was alive he woud turn bill ward to ashes if asked for a drumoff , i hope you reconsider what you said and start listening to some more zep to brin awareness in to your ears dude, i love sabbath and always will, but there's absolutely none comparison
Actually I don't think Bonham would turn him to ashes, he may be better, but not that much better, and of course there's how you judge it, creativity and showing off chops. Just depends.
Billy Ward has Bonham beat on sheer technicality. Beyond that, the two play in different style, and it's hard to compare the two. Bonham might win if the audience was full of metal heads, Ward might win if the audience contained jazz heads.
billy is absolutely one of the best teachers amongst the "real" players. he is a great communicator and generous spirit. we should all be thankful. enjoy!
this guys amazing. i was a little dissapointed with his performance at the modern drummer festival if anyone else was there. he played more jazzy, light songs, instead of some of this great stuff.
I was expecting...someone else.

@liennto Well what's the point of rudiments if you're only going to play them on a pad. You play gigs on kits not pads.

For those who can't seem to get off the "Bonham" train, please stop saying Bonham was the best drummer in the world. He never was and never will be.
He was great for rock and had a unique style and sound I agree and loved the dude, but he was very good at basic stuff, period.
To compare him to guys like this guy above is ridiculous.
Technically speaking, and I AM a drummer of 35 years, Bonham couldn't carry 99% of any jazz drummer's jock straps.
We just love to jump on band wagons though, lol.

Let's be honest though, Moby Dick from Led Zep II is one of the most boring drum solos ever recorded.
HawkwindMaster 2 years ago 4
the original meh.. a little menotonus, but it inspirired many future drummers to go their own solos...

You're saying that only because you haven't heard how horrible my first solo sounded ;)

Is Bill Ward Of Black Sabbath??
But he's awesome
I love Bill, Tony, Geezer and Ozzy
They are greats
bill is the fucking best drummer of the history (much better that John Bonham)
Geezer The best bassist
Iommi the best guitarrist of metal and rock
ozzy jjaja is a fucking god of metal

I'm not so sure Billy was better than John. They both have distinct styles.
I think Billy is overlooked far too often. His style and contribution to rock drumming is often overshadowed by Bonham and Peart, Bozzio etc.

Bill Ward is a fantastic drummer and Sabbath wrote better songs then Zepplin too.
