It has been proven that dredges actually remove mercury from the waterways along with lead, gold and other heavy metals. The winter run off is the only violator that contaminants the rivers every year. Are we going to arrest mother nature for her annual cleansing? Let me see... You break up compacted gravel allowing silt to wash away, leaving clean fresh gravel beds that fish can use for spawning, and you remove mercury and lead from our rivers and streams, and that somehow is an environmental crime?

@lcalarea47 How does dredging do more damage than a flood or even the Winter run offs which effect the ENTIRE river? I'm just in a tiny portion of a river making a small hole AND feeding the fish, oxygenating the stream and providing areas for spawning. The Winter runoffs fill my holes evey year. @lcalarea47 Get a grip. There is absolutely ZERO peer reviewed science to support what you claim, but there is extensive research that suggests that this activity is beneficial. For that matter, YOU benefit from mining every day of your life. Do some reseach into where the minerals you use come from. They come from Chinese operated mines in Africa utilizing mostly child labor and have no safety or environmental standards. When you oppose small miners, you are no more than shilling for an agenda.

I would like to try it my self but unfortunatly i live in new jersey and i think the water here is empty of gold. btw i liked how you showed the whole prosses in doing it gold and silver are moving up in price thanks to the fed reserve. i hear in the outback in austraila they find it all over in nuggets
