This is absolutely one of the most touching and most beautiful songs I have ever heard! I just discovered it and can't stop listening to it or anything of Matt's. He is an incredible song writer and singer with so much passion within him that he allows us all to feel. I can;t remember the last time I was so touched by a performance. I can't stop crying as I post this. I look forward to meeting Matt one day, in the meantime, keep up the Incredible work. You make the gay community proud sir.

Quite beautifull. Sadly AOL has another article today showing a 16 year old kid that commited suicide for being gay. People like Matt need to be applauded for making videos like this, which helps people to see that being gay is not a terrible thing. We are capable of loving and being loved just like anyone else.

One of the most beautiful songs Ive heard in a long time. Although the video would lead one to believe its a song about two men, when its really about two people in love, if it would of had a man and a women it would of got more airplay what a shame it didn't reach a longer crowd of people one would have to give credit , Mr. Alber stayed true to his convictions.Billy Joel should re-record it and Mr. Alber would get the the Money this song is worth.
I rarely comment on performances, videos, etc. but I feel compelled to do so here. This whole thing- the melody, the lyric, Matt's voice, the arrangement, the video itself is so drippingly gorgeous, so movingly sad, that it had me in tears when I viewed it last night for the first time. I see that I am not alone here and that many commentors have had the same reaction. I awoke this morning thinking of it and in watching it now had exactly the same experience. I love this song and was looking for it. It’s in the scene in Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom when Noah and Ricky are on the patio talking, and snow is falling, and Noah asks what it is about snow falling at night. My favorite scene in the whole movie. The scene and the music is magical, it transports you. I love the line when Ricky answers the snow is like “Gods’ Diamonds sprinkled on Black Velvet” . Ricky's reaction to Noah's coming marriage reminds us that the heart is a lonely hunter.

you know, I love this song but the video is a bit distracting for me; it has nothing to do with the lyrics of the song. i guess some songs are better without a video. on the flip side though, it is beautiful, especially the dance between matt and the other actor.

Yep, I'm another one who keeps coming back to this video, and finding myself weeping like a baby by the end. The song is just such a perfect heart-wrencher, and the video captures that so perfectly. Oh to be swept off one's feet like that... and the way it so well fits the whole rollercoaster metaphor in the lyrics just makes it all the more powerful.
Saw Matt earlier tonight here in Austin. Wow. It was amazing. I cannot recall ever going to hear someone sing where EVERYONE sat in such rapt attention for every word. Thanks for a wonderful evening Matt.

Thank you, Matt, for producing this thoughtfully and carefully done video. From those of us who are older, it is especially moving because this sentiment was so forbidden when we first came out. It is such a pleasure watching the video and hearing you sing about a universal emotion, but particularly poignant when we are gay.

Since there were no gay overtones, I was somewhat baffled as to where you were taking me until the young man entered the scene and you glanced at him. From that point on, it was pure rapture. My heart was pounding in my chest so loudly, I thought I could hear it. By the time you two were dancing, I had goose bumps all over and the tender kiss at the end...... brought tears to my eyes. Before I watched this, I had no idea what it was about or who you were. The simplistic prelude hinted nothing; my mind was a vacuum waiting to be filled with what, I had no idea... The music gave me a strong indication that I was in for a roller coaster ride. When the camera focused on your face and you started to sing, I tingled with anticipation.

Such a beautiful song, both music & lyrics. I've listened to it so many times I have it memorized. I love how "I don't wanna" becomes "Don't you want to" & "a dying romance" becomes "this aching romance" & so many other shifts & subtleties.
In the video I love how your open shirt & tee become, with a shave & haircut, a coat & tie—a perfect use of poetic license, so that the lovers can dance & fall & fly.

I love this song and was looking for it. It’s in the scene in Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom when Noah and Ricky are on the patio talking, and snow is falling, and Noah asks what it is about snow falling at night. My favorite scene in the whole movie. The scene and the music is magical, it transports you. I love the line when Ricky answers the snow is like “Gods’ Diamonds sprinkled on Black Velvet” . Ricky's reaction to Noah's coming marriage reminds us that the heart is a lonely hunter.

you know, I love this song but the video is a bit distracting for me; it has nothing to do with the lyrics of the song. i guess some songs are better without a video. on the flip side though, it is beautiful, especially the dance between matt and the other actor.

Yep, I'm another one who keeps coming back to this video, and finding myself weeping like a baby by the end. The song is just such a perfect heart-wrencher, and the video captures that so perfectly. Oh to be swept off one's feet like that... and the way it so well fits the whole rollercoaster metaphor in the lyrics just makes it all the more powerful.

Thank you, Matt, for producing this thoughtfully and carefully done video. From those of us who are older, it is especially moving because this sentiment was so forbidden when we first came out. It is such a pleasure watching the video and hearing you sing about a universal emotion, but particularly poignant when we are gay.
