any kind of controlled landing is always better than falling from 8,000 feet. you can even land horizontally on the water, and it will not be as bad as a freefall from 8,000 feet.

stupid idiots, they waited til the instruments burned through and were inoperative. they should have just landed.
stupid. they should have been landing, yet they were dumping fuel and flying all over, while it was getting worse.
