This live at Santa Cruz was just the BEST!!!!! Was there and I think I've never seen such a dramatic song done so well by any band I've ever seen. PiXiES are the best rock band EVER!!!!
Saw the Pixies live 11/21/11 in Santa Cruz Ca. They performed this with a fog machine on the BLAST setting that filled up the whole hall (a rather large venue) and they did this for what seemed to be a ten minute version that was utterly psychadelic and, from my standpoint, reminiscent of the 60's bands. It was a MIND BLOWER... it was BIBLICALLY amazing... I'll never forget it!!
@twistoffate314 no man, it's one of the crazy space trips from Frank Black. it's about a spaceship cruising the milky way into the center of it. ever noticed how the center of the milky way is bright and white? so you have it.
I had, for lack of a better way to phrase it, a mini spiritual awakening when they played this song live at The Orpheum in Vancouver a few months back. First time I've ever seen The Pixies live and the first time I went inside The Orpheum. It was amazing. My best friend and I were so gobsmacked by the show that we stumbled out of the theater like a pair of drunks. We pretty much agreed to start a band minutes later.
One of the all time great b-sides. The Kim Deal songs were always great.

Wow, the studio version is so different compared to the 1991 live version. That said, I like the live version so so so much more.
