"You are Peter (meaning Rock), and upon this Rock I will build my Church". Christ built but one Church and it was founded on Peter. Everyone believing they are the final interpreter of the Bible has led to 33,000 denominations. I urge you to prayerfully consider the claims of the Catholic Church which has been around for 2000 years, unlike 30 or 40 or even 200 years like most Protestant churches today. Don't just rely on old canards about the Catholic Church, find out for yourself.
2 timothy 3:15 is another one of those major changes from the AV; at about 5:50 in this video Paul would not tell Timothy that the "ancient writings" can make him wise hoping that Timothy knew which ancient writings he meant? "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." You all need to compare the differences between the AV and the version you use the word of God is preserved in the KJV.

@nudaydawning "We try to witness to them and encourage them to turn from their sins and repent instead of stoning them." instead why didn't you say this "We try to witness to them and encourage them to turn from their sins and repent because we don't stone them anymore at all." Do you see a difference? If not you're being intellectually dishonest. Also I'm not going to heaven or hell both places aren't real, your real choice is between being controlled by authority or being free.
@nudaydawning "We try to witness to them and encourage them to turn from their sins and repent instead of stoning them." And it's comments like this that make me fearful of Christians not wanting them anywhere near my future theoretical kid. The very fact that to you stoning is even an option is disgusting on so many levels. Even if it was between my life or serial killer like Gary Ridgway I wouldn't pick stoning because of how painful it'd be for him and cruel you'd have to be to do that.
@nudaydawning Since I'm not a member of that board you complaining about it is a moot topic because unlike some people I don't claim to have knowledge that I don't have. ;-) BTW Most of the Atheist I've met here have made me feel hopeful of the future. Granted there are a few out there that say something stupid but then you get over a dozen different people calling them out on their BS. Perhaps that makes you feel bad but it confirms my confidence in the friends that I have & how great they are.
@nudaydawning It's funny I found that exact quote on a message board labeled Paranormal/Conspiracy in gamefaqs which appears to be an online web forum about computer games. Do you always go there to get ideas about Atheist? It's not even an Atheist site at least use a mock one if you're going to be this disingenuous. The person posting that topic it was theoretical and he wanted to have philosophical debate you'd get that if you read the rest of his comments. Sounds like some Theist can't read.
Marks background looks out of place and unnatural, Ray and Tony's background looks more natural with the cool toned background matching their appearance.
@candiceevans1 ,,,they just dont understand that all scripture is GOD BREATHED,,
,Okay, but at the time of this saying, the N.T. did not exist and the O.T. was not 'officially' put together until the rise of Christianity. So the 'Scriptures' that are referred to as being 'God-Breatherd' are the Old Testament writings, since Jesus and the apostles quoted from them repeatedly.
@saythewords It's not my problem it proves what he's saying is false making it his unless he ignores facts which they do all the time. There are people right now in the military facing death, going through cancer or other illnesses facing death and they don't go crying to Jesus right before they die. That's a common christian fallacy that is baseless. Would you suddenly embrace Allah or Odin or Ra right before you died? It works the same way for people not believing what you do.
@MistressArte Well you can't fear what you don't believe to be true. If you go to hell that is your problem not Christians, we may try to teach things but at the end of your life it's your problem. Allah and Odin have done nothing to remove the consequences for my sin.
@saythewords "the consequences for my sin." are imaginary made up by people who wanted to control you, and what better way then religion? Also where did I say I fear hell? Hell is like the tooth fairy or big foot, my problem is with the Christians claiming there are no Atheist in foxholes when they are there in the military right now & claiming that they don't really exist is very disrespectful. What if people kept telling you you were a false Christian and that Christians aren't really real?
@MistressArte Actually control would be better with pleasures as it is more deceptive. Like a bomb inside a gift. Many religious people fall away, usually because of some type of (sinful) pleasure.
You don't fear hell and that is your problem and only a miracle from God will change that.
If I was told I was a false Christian I would seriously consider what they are saying, if their argument holds up Biblically I'll have some things to work out, if not I wouldn't care.
@saythewords What if they said that in the media and to all Christians saying you know they claim to be but nahh not really. Once they face death they will be Scientologist because our nation was created with Scientology in mind following it's guidelines. We know it's not actually written in the constitution however on our money we have in Hubbard we trust written on it as proof that this nation is for Scientology. Put yourself in this example and tell me how would you feel if it were true?
@MistressArte I think I got off your topic of "Christians claiming there are no Atheist in foxholes when they are there in the military right now & claiming that they don't really exist is very disrespectful" I hold your opinion pertaining to this because more than disrespectful it's not true. And if the sole motivation for someone being Christian is built upon fear of dying, they will turn from Christianity in the time when they no longer fear dying. That's a problem with death bed converts...
@saythewords Yes and being an Atheist I already know I'm a minority in the US, however the fact that I'm an Atheist it's like the fact that my eyes are blue or that I have small feet for my height to have lies being spread about you too is uncalled for. That's the reason why there has been this big push to get Atheist to be more open about it. That way other Atheist will see them and think I have people that are like me which is a human thing to want to have. I'm glad you understand that now.
@MistressArte You seem quite an emotional person, did these guys hurt you at some point? You seem to be fairly hateful. That's a shame, I hope you find your peace and learn to just let go of your anger and resentment. God bless
@stephjh2006 What makes you think I'm an emotional person? A bit perplexed that grown adults haven't grown up beyond fairy tales they were told as kids thinking they're true. However the second those silly tales impact my life by stopping scientific progress like Bush did or passing abortion laws because you never know if you'll need 1 then I get pretty dam pissed off. If you just stayed in your little corner off in lala land & didn't hurt others water under the bridge from that point forward.
@MistressArte : Yeah, & Jesus forgave the adulterous women PRIOR to the stoning (Jn 8) & we Christians prior to conversion were adulteress & worse, but no longer counted as suhc (1Cor6v9-11).... and I think I may be wearing a wool linen blend shirt too (gasp), better stone me AFTER I finish my prawn cocktail!
@bradmorris67 Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Now would I say that's something you should do no, but I'm an Atheist I don't believe in any of it however if you want your god to like you and you don't do what it says I've read the book you should be afraid of it, it's crazy. Or you can always start to be logical and take it for the fiction that it is because you are already partly there. ;-)
@MistressArte You are still a bit highly strung. Your now not thinking clearly at all, read your last post. As if we are to stone these people. Come on now, calm down and start thinking rationally. I was interested in hearing how Bush held back Science, not surprising as he was a bit of a nutcase (putting that lightly). I'm not American so don't know these crazy things, we have plenty of crazy things over here
@stephjh2006 o.O You didn't see that I was using that bible quote to prove you shouldn't base your morality on that disgusting thing (bible)? I'm an Atheist remember? The whole book is bollocks and anyone basing their actions on it needs to be institutionalized so they don't go off and kill someone. It doesn't really make people crazy it gives them a moral high ground to justify their actions and it makes normally rational people look the other way.
@MistressArte Just pointing out that your high emotional state is clouding your judgement. What you are saying is absurd. I base my morals on the Bible, it leads to a good moral standard, as shown through history. Some have abused it. It just requires a bit of thinking and you will see why your comments are just plain silly. I recommend doing some biblical study to understand it, so far you seem to be falling into the stereotype of someone who reads in ignorance. It takes time to study
@stephjh2006 I was Christian for 13 years I was even confirmed that's why you telling me I just don't get it is absurd. Perhaps you need to understand the second people made up a god in their own image even if it had any merit to begin with, that's when it lost all it's merit. Your god has desires and wants making it mockery of the universe and reality. The universe and realty are great because it never attempts itself to be great that it succeeds in becoming great.
@MistressArte Perhaps take a look at meaning and purpose of the passages you love to quote, who they were written to, why they were written, how they were used, when were they used, and what end did it produce. Are the laws moral laws or governing laws? Most atheists (and probably Christians too) are way off the mark when they read the law, they don't understand it they don't know its application or its purpose. They don't understand the people it was written to either.
@stephjh2006 No I do understand the people it was written for, because back then they didn't have the evolved morality that we have today. Things like being labeled a witch would get you killed and if you raped a girl the proper thing to do was to pay her father then marry her. That was their morality back then, a bit shocking to us now which is why I don't get anyone who can read things like that and feel that's ok.
@MistressArte No I still don't think you understand it. Just read it and study it. No point criticising something that you don't understand yet. But you can understand it, it just takes a bit of research, thought and discussion. It's interesting (at least I found it interesting) and you may be surprised.
@MistressArte But mostly I would try calming down, it is hard to think rationally with such a clouded mind of emotion and anger. I have found that a lot in dealing with people (Christians too) they are not in the right frame of mind to think, question, and find answers. I myself am a sceptic that is why I am also a strong believer I guess. Some people say they are sceptic, but really just a critic. Sceptics don’t just assume, they also need to investigate fairly.
@stephjh2006 You can't be a skeptic in faith if you believe something in faith which is a firm belief in something for which there is no proof. If you knew with evidence that other people can scientifically test & verify well then everyone would have to believe if they were being rational. However you don't have that proof I use to be Christian and it's not there. I was born always asking questions which lead me to being an Atheist if you're really skeptical then you have to be that or Agnostic
@MistressArte Sure you can be a sceptic in faith. Scepticism simply means to question and not take as given anything given as fact or opinion. I have always been a sceptic. It is through questioning that my faith grew as it had more solid foundation to build upon. I think you take the atheist definition of faith rather than a true definition. The only way atheism or agnosticism can be the result is if that is the only possible end to questions.
"He loves his sin?" Yea that is my first instinct. Maybe he looked at the evidence. Maybe he looked at creationism for what it is. PSEUDOSCIENCE!!!!! Faith can have a place in life. It just does not belong in the science class.
your show rocks!!! Amen to 180 PRAISE JESUS! i know you wont speak about end times conspiracy....... but...... maybe we can speak of the seven feasts that are about to happen at the new moon..... tell me no and i will not ask again. i guess im just hungry for for evangelistic end times preaching. is that wrong????

@251251 atheists are just like anyone else. i know that me and my friends watch this to understand. however we have such radically different views that a person who takes such important issues on faith dismissing science and such, it makes it very hard to find anything constructive to take out of it other than dismissing it. these berrating messages you see really are an honest critique, he dismisses some science and uses logical fallices all the time. its hard not to write scathing comments.
@guitarheroguy12 lol I know right? I can write essays on how much they are wrong even sing the wrong song watch?v=WrjwaqZfjIY it's sometimes like talking to people who don't understand English and words and how to use them.
@guitarheroguy12 I see your point, I just dont see how someone who puts all their faith in science can see how everything can come from nothing. That is what changed me, and I became a Christian. Just that its a scientific impossibility for something to come from anything. But you can believe what you want, and I will believe what I want. take care!

@guitarheroguy12 I see your point, I just dont see how someone who puts all their faith in science can see how everything can come from nothing. That is what changed me, and I became a Christian. Just that its a scientific impossibility for something to come from anything. But you can believe what you want, and I will believe what I want. take care!
