The very fact that to you stoning is even an option is disgusting on so many levels. Even if it was between my life or serial killer like Gary Ridgway I wouldn't pick stoning because of how painful it'd be for him and cruel you'd have to be to do that.

Granted there are a few out there that say something stupid but then you get over a dozen different people calling them out on their BS. There are people right now in the military facing death, going through cancer or other illnesses facing death and they don't go crying to Jesus right before they die. That's a common christian fallacy that is baseless. Would you suddenly embrace Allah or Odin or Ra right before you died? It works the same way for people not believing what you do.

You don't fear hell and that is your problem and only a miracle from God will change that.

If I was told I was a false Christian I would seriously consider what they are saying, if their argument holds up Biblically I'll have some things to work out, if not I wouldn't care.

That's the reason why there has been this big push to get Atheist to be more open about it. That way other Atheist will see them and think I have people that are like me which is a human thing to want to have. I'm glad you understand that now.

Perhaps you need to understand the second people made up a god in their own image even if it had any merit to begin with, that's when it lost all it's merit. @MistressArte Perhaps take a look at meaning and purpose of the passages you love to quote, who they were written to, why they were written, how they were used, when were they used, and what end did it produce. Are the laws moral laws or governing laws? Most atheists (and probably Christians too) are way off the mark when they read the law, they don't understand it they don't know its application or its purpose. They don't understand the people it was written to either.

Things like being labeled a witch would get you killed and if you raped a girl the proper thing to do was to pay her father then marry her. That was their morality back then, a bit shocking to us now which is why I don't get anyone who can read things like that and feel that's ok.

@MistressArte But mostly I would try calming down, it is hard to think rationally with such a clouded mind of emotion and anger. I have found that a lot in dealing with people (Christians too) they are not in the right frame of mind to think, question, and find answers. I myself am a sceptic that is why I am also a strong believer I guess. Some people say they are sceptic, but really just a critic. Sceptics don’t just assume, they also need to investigate fairly.

@stephjh2006 You can't be a skeptic in faith if you believe something in faith which is a firm belief in something for which there is no proof. If you knew with evidence that other people can scientifically test & verify well then everyone would have to believe if they were being rational. However you don't have that proof I use to be Christian and it's not there. I was born always asking questions which lead me to being an Atheist if you're really skeptical then you have to be that or Agnostic

@MistressArte Sure you can be a sceptic in faith. Scepticism simply means to question and not take as given anything given as fact or opinion. I have always been a sceptic. It is through questioning that my faith grew as it had more solid foundation to build upon. I think you take the atheist definition of faith rather than a true definition. The only way atheism or agnosticism can be the result is if that is the only possible end to questions.

@251251 atheists are just like anyone else. i know that me and my friends watch this to understand. however we have such radically different views that a person who takes such important issues on faith dismissing science and such, it makes it very hard to find anything constructive to take out of it other than dismissing it. these berrating messages you see really are an honest critique, he dismisses some science and uses logical fallices all the time. its hard not to write scathing comments.
