  • well consumer reports needs to "buy american " lol...they hate this audi. Go buy a Ford Excursion.

  • It s not a motor.. it s an engine.. lame..!!

  • wow that key thing is the fucking dumbest thing

  • he's right about the a4

  • OMG he has to pause to pull the key out?!?! If i had a Audi I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be complaining.

  • He is right about the key. it would be a lot more better to push a button rather then just sticking the remote into a slot, and you would be getting in keyless anyways...

  • ok people stop defending the key. he is right it would annoy me too.

  • Wow. That video sold me on not buying an A4.

  • I've had my 2012 A4 for a while now and not once have I had a problem removing the key. The radio is not all that hard to figure out. I test drove a BMW 2009 750i with the iDrive and that is what pushed me away to buy the Audi. I like the styling of the BMW better, but Audi gave me a much better interest rate than BMW and other car makers did, so I picked the Audi. The A4 has a lot of low-end grunt while going through stop and go traffic. An ECU upgrade offers 353 lbs of torque!

  • CR has never liked Audi. They don't give them enough credit for building excellent cars. Instead of saying you should get more than a 4 cyl engine for the price, why doesn't he say how much better fuel economy they get than a 3 series? the bias is palpable.

  • the key is fine...it gets charged when its inside the knob which is pretty smart.....that comment is harsh..

  • that key is annoying :O

  • WOW! this man knows nothing about Audi! Quattro is more than just awd. The 4cyl turbo engine is just as powerful as a V6. I love cruzing @ 65mph then dropping her into 3rd gear (tiptronictrans w/paddle shifters) to fly up to 100mph in seconds. Its not the size of the engine its how you use it! This guy is a clown! No AWD can outperform Q!!!

  • at 1:20, he is not wearing a seat belt

  • this guy is a giraffe what do you expect to fit two giraffes in one side of the driver duhh.... most americans are not tall as you, and I test drove the A4 is the best thing ever

  • wow the key > you wait like 0.5 secs lol

  • he's a bimmer guy

  • my god this guy shouldnt be allowed to go near a car

  • wow!! dats one complaining bloke...

  • this is the worst reveiw ever a4 it is a cool car wtf does he expecting fom a4 to be big as a8 well it is not it it is just middle class audi

  • Key thing isn't rlly a problem, before u pull the key out, just wait a sec that's it

  • Consumer Reports....can I work for you and really help people and make you more trustworthy ????? This was a bad review....

  • This guy has no idea what he is talking about. The key is very easy to realise, you push in and out it pops. What a dick head!

  • I'm 6'5" and found the interior room to be more than ample. The A4's level of seating comfort was one of the main reasons that I have recently ordered one. This guy is just looking to complain! Oh and the key issue? I mastered it on the first try. I liken this reviewer to a certain courtroom defendant who just would not make that glove fit.

  • only person ive seen complaining about legroom in any review . havent had one person complain about mine, idles on the rough side but purrs like a kitten when it matters, this reviewer can blow me. anyone gone stg1 with anything to say about it??

  • the reviewer has that wavy hair,It's waving goodbye to his head

  • this guy is nt a audi person,, tats y hes finding faults in keys/leg room head clearance, one touch button for radio, seat heater etc

  • this guy is nt a audi person,, tats y hes finding faults in keys/leg room head clearance/ one touch button for radio, seat heater etc....

  • HOW can someone say a FF car has great Handling. My GTI 6 handles better, but i wouldnt call it great handling.

These reviews are good for talking about interior and electronics but NOT ANYTHING ABOUT DRIVING.

  • You are the worst car reviewer on the planet! 1. there is nothing wrong with the key 2. the interior is not cramped 3. this is the best car in its class 4. you are a cheap gay freak with no life. The A4 is amazing

  • This guy can be an ass.. Sorry..

I drove one last Saturday and I have no complaints. I'm 6'3 and I fit in the car just fine. It's a really nice ride and I feel they have the competition beat!

  • To pay more for diesel?! For worse?!

  • thats a very clear and good speed of explaination...

until 3:32 when you suddenly jet out your words~ O_O

  • The reason why is sounds like a diesel is because of direct injection so that has nothing to do with refinement.

  • @onishchuk4

Also, the A4 2.0T sounds nothing like a diesel engine.

  • Lucky nobody cares about the opinions of Americans on cars.

  • at 0:18 I thought he was going to dance lol

  • expensive 4 banger....

  • 1:26 what the hell does he signal for...just proves he has no idea what he's talking about. back to topgear and jeremy clarkson

  • "you have to press a button to switch between different things.. so hard" This guy is a moron. Really? You can't handle pressing the 'tune' button to go to the radio? And, pressing a button to go back to seat heating? I'm surprised he didn't say "I wish this car came with a chip i could put in my brain so I don't have to touch anything" Lazy ass bastard.

  • Guys.... Its fun to watch how German cars on road, however owning them is a big time pain in the ass.. I am not saying this with regards to the sale price, but for the maintenance costs.. I would rather buy an Infiniti G37 or a Acura TSX over a A4 or 3 series !!!!

  • @stillwaterusa I actually compared the specs and build my own car on each of their websites. For what I put in for both. The Infinite G37 is more expensive while the with the Audi A4 Premium Plus (including the sports package) I get a better deal.

  • by the way in Europe you can buy the Skoda Octavia wich is the same car with the same engine and the same chassis at very low price.

  • 3 series all the way

  • does the moonroof on this only tilt or does it slide back also?

  • A lot of things in a car review that this video leaves out. Like 0-60; bhp; 60-0; mpg city/highway, etc. So my review of this review: fail. Looks like it was made for housewives who do not know a thing about cars.

  • All these things he is complaining about. Im sure if it was any BMW product, it wouldnt be an issue..

  • @chinkyeyes86 Have you seen the review's on BMW's? They are the same. Get over the fact this car has some drawbacks, all cars do.

  • prob the best looking euro car out there...if that's ur thing

  • "the problem is most sport sedans offer awd to" but the question is are they as good as quattro?

  • @JttM199

No, in fact most so-called AWD systems are not "always on" true AWD, and most cars don't even have a center differential. Audi uses the Torsen center differential for their AWD cars, and it doesn't rely on electronics or waiting until wheels slip to react. It's always on, so it doesn't wait for wheel spin, it prevents wheel spin. This is why Audi's AWD is safer and better in bad weather. MB and BMW are both RWD cars that react to wheel spin. Too late!

  • Honestly if you can only afford a small German sedan with all these setbacks, you might as well buy a large fully loaded Japanese sedan that will give you a lot more performance with a 276hp V6 and look that this guys review for the Accord, excellent handling as well.

  • @desimunda116

    "excellent handling as well. "

An Accord does NOT handle well in heavy rain or snow or high winds.

I lived in Denver for many years, and the Accords routinely get stuck in the snow, plowing their way into the nearest snowbank. No thank you. Audis don't get stuck, and they handle MUCH better on dry pavement as well. Buy an Accord if you want something just as expensive that won't handle the road nearly as well or offer anywhere near the same level of comfort and quality.

  • wow.. i love that consumer reports tells you things that jeremy clarkson or european reviewers will never admit.

  • consumer reports doesn't disappoint with another dull review

  • @aselch I think their job is to inform, not to entertain. If you want entertainment go watch a movie.

  • I noticed, when American car reviewers give low grades to european cars those cheuvenist europeans gets pissed off so easiliy and start to call Americans dumb ... of course until the next gulf war then Americans become the smartest ... after the war they are dumb again. LOL low grade europeans. JApanese never gets offended when their cars get bad critcism they simply do better.

  • @Fussinated LOL. haha... that's so true.

  • @Fussinated Alienado total. O mundo não gira em torno dos Estados Unidos. Ponha isso na sua cabeça, essa época já existiu mas acabou! Traduza para o portugues para entender.

  • my grandma owns an a4. the man in the video is totallyy useless. the a4 is the most comfy car in its class and the key doesnt get out if you dont pull it correctly. the mmi of the a4 is also reeeally good. the purpose of the buttons there which are lot are to make you life easier. they are SHOOOOORTCUTS mister.

  • Dude the key is not an issue your ticked cause your making it obvious that you really like the car. You don't want to admit that you like it so you are trying to find an issue with car no matter how small and insignificant it is.

  • "There's not very much room in the back.." well maybe if you weren't a tall ass motherfucker....

  • @abcNICKabc

He doesn't look either fat or particularly tall.

Maybe if you are not so short and under-nutritioned, you don't have to pretend to have a big penis by spewing profanity online.

  • American car reviews are just about the worst in the world.

  • cramped interior? it's the biggest interior in its class =S.

  • There are a couple of problems with this review. He neglects to mention just how distracting the dash system is. If I spend lots of money on a sport saloon; the task of driving needs to be first on your attention list. If it takes constantly glancing downward at the dash to adjust the interior temp, it takes away from driving, and is, dangerous, really... Also, he neglects to mention any real stats, which is what sells sport. However, I should have known, this being Con-Blooper Re-blorts.

  • @ThePatUltra

No one in their right mind is "constantly adjusting the temp". The buttons allow you to find just the right temperature and then be able to quickly and easily adjust up or down with one touch. It remembers what temperature you left it at and brings it back there. It's simple, in fact far simpler than guessing each time which part of the variable slider is the right temperature, which takes far longer and is TRULY distracting, as is the case on many cars. This design is better.

  • Get a 3

  • Why does he act like the key is a big problem get over it you clown.

  • @Mast3rSkillz Because it is a problem since it is annoying not to be able get your key out after paying tons of money to a car.

  • @Mast3rSkillz i know right? i test drove an audi a4 a few weeks ago and it had the key start and i had no problem with getting it out.

  • @Mast3rSkillz It IS a huge poblem if you own one and have to deal with it many times a day..... seriously.

  • Parents are thinking of trading their '07 GL450 for an A4, 3-series (for BMW's maintenance program), or a C-Class (for loyalty to Mercedes-Benz). Which one should they go for??

  • @scaremenga a4 or three series mate, the cclass doesnt drive as good as the other twos and uses much more fuel. +its a mercedes. 5 in 10 people nowadays drive ann old fashioned mercedes.

  • @scaremenga

The 450 has more power, but is also very pricey and is going to cost nearly twice as much in fuel, a big expense these days. The MB is going to be twice the money for the same car with an inferior traction control mechanism that is not true AWD. All are nice cars, but if you want to drive with confidence in bad weather, then the A4 is your only real choice. Many report vague steering on the MB as well. The MB is not really a sports car like the other two.

  • Wish it said "usa" review. As the way this guy looks at the car is alot different to what us across the pond look at

  • it's just a pussy review, nothing continental

  • About the key - you probably can't pull it out instantly because Audi wanted to make sure it won't be removed during driving accidentally. With key out the wheeldrive would automatically block itself causing some seroius danger.

    That's my assumption, though.

  • @Icheb82 agreed

  • WELL WELL, of course other sports sedans have AWD too, but they don't have torque vectoring quattro, this AWD is beyond everything else.

  • this guy is a retard, my friend has this car and theres no problem removing the key.

    L2motorskills

  • audis are the most overpriced cars made

  • @modernhumble

Compared to a Bentley or a Lamborghini? Hah!

I could buy a nice house if the suburbs with the money that those cars cost.

  • No radio presets? No seat heat presets? No quatro AWD standard? A 4 cylinder engine? cramped cabin?

    WTF Audi?!

I might re consider this car as soon as they have presets for the radio/seat heat and that stupid LCD as an optional feature so I don't have to get it.

  • 1. there is a learning curve for MMI, but once its done, its as simple as cake

    2. the cabin, for its class, is not cramped in the slightest......its larger than both the 3-series and C-class inside

    3. the 4 cylinder engine (turbocharged/FSI/valve timing) is its best asset.....it does sound a tad-diesel like at idle but its very refined and smooth. plus, its getter better fuel economy and OUTPERFORMS the small V6's from competitors. still undercuts bmw/benz by a few thousand

  • So that means you like/ don't mind having to take your eyes off the road to change radio channels? Also, is the turbo engine standard?

    Ive looked over the car again and as of now my main annoyances are;

No standard quatro system, Wood trim only available on premium models, chrome exterior trim only on premium model, LED headlights are expensive, LED taillights only available on premium and no leather steering wheel.

It may sound like alot but It bothers me that everything is only on premium.

  • It's the probably the most advanced AWD system in the world, it's only good that Audi gives you the choice to save money by not having it if you don't need it.

  • @sspope

So advanced that it was designed in the US and is used on the HMMV military vehicles, AKA the "Hummer".

It's the only AWD system that does not rely on electronics and is always on.

  • what? theres the premium, premium plus, and prestige, which more options availible with each trim. the quattro is not an expensive option, its slightly more and the majority of A4's are sold with it. I originally wanted wood trim on mine but when I chose the black leather interior i fouund the aluminium gives it a great, quality, sporty look. There is no LED headlight option, its the LED running lights. They come with the premium plus trim. You ned the prestige version for the LED tail lights

  • the LED tail lights and they're nice but not very necessary. The ones in front are already quite stunning. On the point of radio channels, I barely ever have to look off the road as it becomes near second nature to. Plus, if you get navigation, voice command is effective. However if you do not, there is still a button on the wheel to scroll both presets and different bands/satellite channels. And yes, the amazing turbocharged 4 cylinder engine is in fact standrds. "premium" is stripped down trim

  • I should know this, I own one. Great styline, interior build quality and Quattro, which most models are sold with, continues to perform like a dream (even better with the 6th gen).

  • O.K wait, I live in Canada so i think things are a bit different. I don't remember having premium/ premium plus and prestige packages available. I do know that all the models come with an option for the string of LED headlights for 1000$.

I have only 2 trim lines availible; Standard and Premium. Then I choose automaticc or manual the I decide on FWD or Quatro.

The base model engine is a 2.0 TFSI 211 HP engine.

I don't mind the radio controls anymore though.

  • hahaha must be the misunderstanding then =)

I guess all I can still tell you is that its a very solid car, high speed stability is great and with the new chassis handling is improved. BMW and Benz have both announced that a few years down the line they will be replacing their lower end V6's with powerful 4 cylinders again......Audi had it right for the market this whole time. The 2.0 engine is brilliant, even better than the past renditions (this version isnt shared with VW).

  • LOL, ok then. Anyway, I don't mind having a 4 cylinder as long as it's powerful. I currently own a 09' Hyundai Sonata V6 and Ive noticed that the new Sonata for 2011 was completely redesigned with a Turbo direct injection 4 cylinder instead of V6.

Why is everyone going to Turbo 4 cylinders now?

  • more fuel efficent than 6s, fuel costs rising

  • They should still offer it to those that want a V6!

Personally, I don't give crap about fuel consumption! I want my car to be powerful and I want it to growl when I accelerate!

My next car is an Infiniti G37. They offer a true, 330hp direct injection V6 standard. The fastest car for you money. At least Infiniti isn't going for the turbo 4 cylinder BS.

  • @EliteSlayer542

"Personally, I don't give crap about fuel consumption!"

With the price of fuel rising and supplies dwindling, you may change your mind sometime. Fuel prices in Europe are higher than they are here, and I, for one, have chosen the A4 because they have found a way to get V6 power from a 4 with high compression, and the money saved is just an added bonus.

  • @EliteSlayer542

Because by 2030 there will only be oil available to the military or for manufacturing, and the rest will be gone, having been consumed. It's finite, and it's going fast, especially with drivers with the attitude that says "Personally, I don't give crap about fuel consumption!".

  • @EliteSlayer542

Heated seats don't need presets, you just leave them where they were. Most of the time you want to turn it up on a cold day and then turn it down. Presets would be a waste of dash space. You can't remember which setting to use Really?

Some people prefer FWD sadly, and that option is available.

Radio presets are standard. Do some basic research.

The 200hp outperforms the Lexus IS250 which uses much more fuel with a 2.5L engine.

    You are seriously misinformed.

  • What makes you think I hate any nation? I only responded to your not too kind reply to my opinion. And no I am not French. :-)

  • nice car, but u get more with other german companies.

  • Well then I get the picture. That explains why you are so hateful towards anybody with a different opinion. No wonder most people do not like Americans if they have your attitude. Peace.

  • Oh yes, if you think so. I did not do this review. Thanx for intelligent and polite comment. One can tell you are German.....

  • No surprise.... not a bad car but terribly overpriced with pretty complicated everything...... Luxury mistaken for complicacy.

  • @ramusling

Have you seen the dash of a Lexus or a Mercedes Benz?

Just as many features that you call "complicated".

If heated seat settings are too complex for you, then let me help you:

Pick a number between one and six. Zero shuts it off. Is that too hard for you?

Audis are less expensive by *thousands* than a BMW or MB similarly equipped.

And BTW, complicacy is not a word. Look it up.
