  • This song gives me the chills every time...truly delightful

  • This was on MTV!? WTF happened?

  • @crcaccounts you had oportunity to find out who Bjork is 8-)

  • @nemanja95rihanna I meant that I was surprised at how MTV had changed. At one time they were not just a channel on television that played music, but one that played good music, not just radio friendly mainstream music.

  • Found the answer!! MTV Unplugged 1994 or 1995. On DVD!!!!

  • Does anybody know which live is this? Thanx soooo much.....

  • She is so talented, skilled, and gifted. She's as well gorgeous, pretty, adorable and hot!

So fuckin' hot! FUCKIN'HOT!!! I love you Bjork!

  • I would enjoy if her uterus was the host to my offspring.

  • Bjork at her most creative and she looks stunning here.

  • This MTV Unplugged concert was around 15 years ago... she's no longer as pretty as she once was (check out her sugarcube days), but she still hasn't lost her youthful charm, her terrific artistry, and definitely, her music is getting better and better.

  • shes f..cking beautiful...

  • @joseluisrl That's why I clicked.

  • @joseluisrl

    Amen to that

  • @erictapeworm amen .. ajajaj

  • @joseluisrl was

  • @projetsmith thats right .

  • The sound is from the album, no live here.

  • no it's not, video is just little out of sync ... btw the album version is way better in my opinion :)

  • Wow, she's so beautiful. I've never really noticed before.

  • that's all. :).

  • ie, need is born in you. she already have some character. They become you, only when you identify with them - exploring. You can find them, and ... either reject or keep and develop them in yourself = you discovered and you liked that music which you prefer today. for 10 years maybe, you will like something what you are not prefer today...TheMCC14

  • You have your nature, you have your travel and value which decide about sensibility your senses. you understand what you like. but you can not control feeling which decide about character your needed of sensibility.

  • music, pictures, poetry, movies, space for human, his existence... it is creation of self-awareness and - in life - awarness discover yourself. I think and I feel so. Bjork for me it is human, which give me stories about something what is in me, but I must want to find - what it is?. And I discover my human - understand that who I am... and I want to be human which I am, without shame. to be in my true, my nature, my meet .

  • you told - she is not vocalist becouse she don' t have voice which I like. which is magical for ears. music- songs, sounds are - everyone it is as diferent story... it's for everyone have other value. what it is art? hm? meybe it is object and interpretation of person?

there is no absolute talent. only one telent does not exist. . Talent is not just one meaning, thus it is not obvious in many cases.

  • music it is not octav scale only. it' s expresion, feelings, authenticity of a person = voice + text + composition.

what doing with other vocalist wich have not that strong voice but have subtle voice.

  • meybe you can not hear more. you can hear technics vocal only. you forget - are diferent talent = diferent sensibility = diferent " language of music ".

  • As just one example, go listen again (for the "first time") to Christina Aguilar's "Hurt." That song contains the essential elements of what makes a female vocal so amazing.

Another - go listen (for the "first time") to Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time" just to name a few.

These two songs by two completely different female artists, express the utmost in female vocal talent. One song moves you to tears while the other lifts your spirit.

    That's talent I can understand.

  • A talented musical artist isn't all about vocal prowess. What makes Bjork unique and talented is her unorthodox approach to music-making with her unique experimental voice and intimate lyrics which are just infused with so much imagery.

She may not have an "ideal female voice" but she has a great voice in the sense that it is unique, playful, experimental, textural. She also sings with her mind and does not simply rely on octave range.

I will not say more about her.

  • Paloma, I definitely get.

Bjork? I just don't understand it. Where are the vocals? Where's the vocal range that makes a female vocalist - a female vocalist? Where's the octave scale? Where's the clarity of note, timing and tempo? Where's the rhythm and on-key tonality?

These are the measures of any vocalist, female or male. Within these dimensions of artistic expression, we know that talent is being revealed.

I'm sorry, I tried (I really did) but I just don't get it with Bjork.

  • @757LeftSeat

Maybe because you dont understand special talent.

  • @757LeftSeat I think this song isn't the best display of her vocal ability. Listen to human behaviour or All is full of love (toward the end). Bjork could definitely sing some of the more "standard" songs to display her vocal ability but that's not her style. I think she's a great great singer!

  • @EllysaE She is an incredible singer.. her vocal range is staggering. I absolutely adore her.

  • @757LeftSeat You seem to get bogged down in technical metrics. As a guitarist I get that part of music, but it isn't what defines art. Good technique is never what defined art. Bjork is an embodiment of artist expression, thats the appeal for many people.

  • if she was my sister, id be in prison

  • my role model there

  • she's beautiful anywhere.

  • she's so beautiful there.....!!!

  • Omg i remember this....

I got it on DVD later on 8) <3 hehhehehheeh

  • If i was to believe in Angels.. I would believe she is one.. Amazing

  • Yea she is very pretty; i thought sometimes not but - u cannot deny it '' love her !

  • People have killed themselves over her.

  • I'm swimming down there so i can be next to her.

  • Hey thx man, yeah we can be friends.

  • murder.

  • oh my gosh.. how pretty! lovely voice.. lovely looks.. an angel..

  • Who cares about her looks. She is a very very talented musician, that's it.

  • well she is very beautiful

  • haha you got it

  • @bodysnatchers324

I wanted write the same comment, and than I saw You wrote, what I thought afer watching this video... :)

  • @bodysnatchers324 Yeah, the Alarm Call video where the snake runs up between her legs... *Homer Simpson drool*

  • OMG, her voice! Wow!

  • you all missed the point: She did it for teh lolz!

  • thats the more "normal" thing i think i've ever seen her wear

  • God, she looked and sounded so beautiful in this performance...the dress, the hair, the voice...

    <3

  • sometimes i think that you have to be a musician or really love music to like bjork.....i wish i still played the sax

  • Her voice is too amazing for words. And she has the most sweetly expressive face I've ever seen.

  • is beautiful ( :

  • slodka wcro

    d trabek

  • I wonder what she was thinking at 1:40. She has a micro expression that puzzles me. I can't say I'm Bjork's biggest fan, but I'm starting to like her more and more after listening to her music and watching some of the music videos. She's so different and I love that!

  • I've noticed she makes that expression when I think she's really feeling the music.

Find "Unravel" on YouTube, the non-music video version (where it's just her and a pianist). Someone said she looks "retarded" when she sings, and a response to that was her soul is just too big for her body. :)

  • Yes, I love that 'Unravel' video with the pianist.

  • What a soothing song. Perfect for when I have trouble sleeping,

  • OMG so beautiful

  • I love Bjork!!!

  • esa faldita!!!

  • she looks absolutly adorable¡¡¡

  • FINE.I'll remove my comments because yes they were a bit harsh but the comments on previous pages were too. W/E Bjork doesn't give a shit about who likes her music so I guess its really none of my concern if you hate it or love it.

  • Are we arguing about music again? Who's music is better and who is the better artists? Please! just shut your mouth and open your ears and enjoy the music.

  • waow simple and very sexy!!!!!!!big change.cool babe.good voice..

  • She's so sweet...

  • tylersherritt -

I typed in what you suggested. That is some average music my friend. Sounds like thousands of other artists.

How many people can you compare to Bjork?? True originality.

If you are into your guitar - based music, may I suggest... Cream. Watch Eric Clapton poo all over what I can only label as 'Americana'.

  • There's so need to offend the American musical culture, when there are plenty of excellent and diverse rock bands within it, such as Aerosmith and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Musical bigotry is bad enough, but bigotry against a whole nation is even worse. Please have some respect, even if Tylersherritt doesn't have it.

  • What was so offensive? Just my opinion. And for the record, I think Eric Clapton (in his many ventures) would poo all over Aerosmith and RHCP.

I am a self-confessed music snob. I have plenty of respect for American music - Paul Simon, anything blues, Joni Mitchell, early Kings Of Leon etc etc....

If you were offended by what I said, I apologise. But I'm afraid it probably says alot more about you than it does about me. Peace out.

  • Calling an entire a genre of music that encompasses a whole nation as "poo" is quite offensive.

I accept your apology and appreciate that you admit to being a music snob. Also, you're "afraid" for no reason. ;) There are many other things in life to fear. LOL!

  • Mr. Music Snob, please would you be so kind as to upload your personal music?

I want to hear the best.

  • 1:40 and 1:42

    Beautiful!

  • I love Bjork she is so beautiful

  • 1:42 hehe

  • I like the cute little faces Bjork makes sometimes, at random moments. She's hilarious.

  • Bjork is the real deal, just like Polly Harvey and so many more, its always easy to spot out the fakes, so stuff the criticism just cos u don't get it. btw i'm not a huge bjork fan, i respect & admire her for doing wat she wants, which explains PJ harvey's masterpiece, White Chalk album

  • Sometimes music doesn't have to be technically difficult to be effective.

Just because it's possibly an easy song to sing, that doesn't necessarily make it bad.

It's a relaxing song and I don't think it would benefit from a 3 minute jazz interlude using complex harmonies.

  • no im not saying that it should have a 3 minute jazz interlude.. im saying that they are already harmonizing and it does sound good. I do know that good songs can be extremely simple. take for example chasing cars by snow patrol. that is the most simple song but it sends a good and heart felt message. this song however does not in anyway.

  • You must be having a laugh. Comparing Snow Patrol to bjork and particularly listing a nothing song designed to sell albums to tits who can't chose first dance music at their wedding!

This is an album track from her début 1993 one. Listen to Medulla or Vespertine or Gling Glo... or pretty much anything.

    Snow Patrol? Mary Jesus Joseph.

  • i live near the mountains

    and during the day

    i climb up them

    up to the top

    above all the clouds

    and leave my worries

and this is where i'm staying

    this is my home

Now explain to me how her version is better then mine? Im not one of those people who just hate on Bjork cause i think she sucks. im just really really confused how someone could have respect and like this song and think its "amazing".

  • The reason your version isn't better is because it's a rip-off of hers *giggles*!

    - no duh!

  • It is amazing because it works within the context of the whole album. Conceptually, lyrically and musically, it is hard to imagine 'Debut' concluding on a better song.

  • Many musicians aren't making music for you. They have no intentions to impress you with their amazing singing and/or musical talents. For them, music is much more about expression, rather than dazzling the audience with virtuoso technical abilities. I'm not saying the musicians you listed don't express themselves, they just choose to do it a different way.

Music is more than a "talent" show. Music is subjective.

  • No but Bjork is world renouned.. and famous. she isnt famous because she has "no intentions to impress" me or her other listeners. Bjork is one who is known for her intense live performances with excentric and crazy costumes and effects. if anyone is out to perform crazy on stage its bjork. i am not a bjork hater. i just think people need to realize a higher talent that is worth paying to see I would pay to see bjork live cause of her show but her songs are bland with no real melodies. continued

  • I'm not a big Bjork fan either. However, when I see someone posting things like "realizing a higher talent" warning bells go off in my head. Music is subjective. People latch onto what they like, and for many Bjork is something they like.

  • Cacasentenze.
