If balance is the problem, try holding static handstands with flexed arms (e.g. watch?v=Y-Y7XPYChGA) or with some movement in the legs (e.g. watch?v=8sGJDpF6M_o). That should help improve your balance so that you can do HSPUs with arm movement. I had a long conversation with someone about it here: watch?v=h7QyPst5A1Q .
I didn't train very systematically towards it. I used to do lots of heavy OH pressing, and full-RoM HSPUs (10 in one go) with a wall for balance, but at that point I couldn't even hold a simple free handstand, and I was bored and wanted to try more complex things involving some skill. With a complex move close to your limit, as this one was for me, it's easy to hurt (e.g.) your wrist and then struggle to train, so I'd try to regularly do lot of similar not-quite-so-complex moves.
A scorpion push-up is actually quite different from this. This is more like halfway to a hollowback press aka 90 degree planche push-up. Impressive nonetheless. I taught myself how to do the tuck version of these but I can't bring myself back to planche position. Hopefully I get to your level soon!
Hi. Cheers. I didn't actually realize at the time that there was a formal exercise called the scorpion push-up; I just named them that way because it occurred to me that the up-turned spine resembled a scorpion.
@stuqua yeah, i thought the same thing until recently haha. i saw someone doing a 90 degree planche with a tiger bend and it looked even more like a scorpion but it turns out there is something that looks nothing like a scorpion that has been thus named lol. great job with the push-ups though! keep it up!
Cheers. But I forgot to mention the simplest, most effective means of elevating the level of various things, which is watching close-up rear-view footage of a sexy girl doing deep squats: watch?v=15gH76NtdV8 !
ya ive seen that video before...AWESOME!! I can feel the testosterone rising..... BTW other people were saying those weights are fake I dont think so though
shit that's impressive! Good to see you back making videos man I'm guessing that was taken with the new camera that only records for 30 seconds? Was that it I cant remember
