you made it look easy.fr the first time the hoop didnt fall right away when i tried to knee hoop. im a very late starter....the hoop still falls but i still got it to hoop a few times..and hoping it gets better. great job.
just wanted to pop in and say. u are soo adorable and look sooo happy when i watch u hoop! awesome. I AM HAVING MAJOR TROUBLE JUST KEEPING THE HOOP UP ABOVE MY KNEES. IT JUST FALLS. I CAN DO MY HIPS VERY WELL, BUT IT SEEMS WHEN IT GET TO MY THIGHS IT FALLS. :( BUT ILL KEEP AT IT!
Is it possible to hoop on your knees in sweat pants? I can knee hoop a little, but when I'm in sweat pants it seems to slip off much more quickly.
Also, how do you practice around bruises? I knee hooped just above my knees and it broke an artery. It's still a dark circle on my leg. I wonder if there's a way to keep up with knee hooping, even if I'm bruised.
Its possible to keep the hoop on your knees in sweat pants. Generally the extra fabric does get into the way while hooping and if your having difficulty keeping it up in sweats your better off wearing shorts or capris. I found that when I first started knee hooping it took a bit more energy to keep it up, on top of that, the extra fabric causes more drag on the hoop and makes it more difficult to keep up.
As far as bruising goes when we hurt ourselves or have some sort pain its a sign to take a break or focus on something else. I know as a hooper i sometimes got attached to getting one particular trick, I have found that after taking a break and letting it go for a time, the trick comes much more easily after.
Hooping is fantastic because there as so many beautiful tricks to work on, on different parts of the body.
Can't wait to hear of your knee hooping success! :)
@MelodieofMovement I've never thought of it that way... it puts a new perspective on hooping in general. But it makes sense. Once I wasn't able to hoop for a week, and I had been working on the vortex, but I picked it back up and I did a perfect vortex - or at least, it was much easier. I guess I just don't have much faith in my legs the way I should.
Thanks for your advice, and for a new perspective on it all. Really. :)
@secretladyspider hey how is your hooping going? my knee bruise if finally gone so i can get back at it again. i first got my first proper knee hoop when i was wearing a long skirt weirdly enough, it made me not watch my legs but just feel the hoop instead. i pole dance also and on slippery days i use mighty grip, i put it on my legs when i was using my lighter hoop which bruises less but is quite slippery as its wrapped in duraseal and pipe tape. it works a charm. happy hooping lady spider.
@austinsmojo2 It's going pretty well actually. I have to wrap them every once in a while, but otherwise it's going pretty well. I can even one leg hoop now. I just wish that I could get it all the way back up to my waist. Good luck with your hooping austin :)
Focus on allowing ur body to get used to the movement of your legs moving to keep the hoop going.
U can also work up a sweat before hand to get extra grip.
Often times when we feel that something is not working for us we look for reasons or problems of why. In my experience that I always get tricks that I want to learn and if I have fun and laugh when it drops I get it that much quicker.
Let go and accept that u will get it and this is part of the process , more fun and the better u feel
My hoop won't stay on my legs. I don't know what to do, it slides right off my skin like my skin is too slippery. I have a lot of grip tape i don't know what the problem is!! help?

@MelodieofMovement Taking a break is kinda scary, because I'm afraid I'll loose the body movement. but I'll have to try.
I'll have to upload a video of it :) and thanks for the tutorial.

@secretladyspider Are you ever worried of loosing your ability to walk or write?
Your body has learned the moments and you can trust that your body has unlimited memory of how to do it.
When you learn something, you know it.
Let go of one trick and pick up another and feel the ease and flow of how knee hooping and everything else comes to you. :)
Your fantastic.
