@countrydude88 no sadly, with the removal of 2 player mode, killed off s2's menu screen which disables any possible cheat inputs...

@CaliDingo100 defined that? Because it has to work around the save system they've added, otherwise as long as its not a cheat input, it could work.

@CaliDingo100 its because the multiplayer was taken out, so any actual level effects like slow down or going back to title screen does not work on the DS version, hence why you can't do level select in S3&K or in Sonic 2 and 3...

@CaliDingo100 you do realize that's the level select cheat, and it doesn't "completely" work in this game. Mind you your stating this in genesis controls instead of the DS controls and pressing Y does not bring you back to the title screen. For the record...

@MrBomber123456 most of these games are limited to applying these cheats. Only Sonic 1, S2&K, S&K, S3&K, Sonic 1: Level Select/Debug mode. Sonic 2 & Knuckles: Level Select/Debug mode. Sonic & Knuckles: ONLY Level Select. Sonic 3 & Knuckles: ONLY Debug mode. Most common reason for cheats being limited was due to multiplayer being removed... and this save feature added...
