not really. motor trend's test is different from the one conducted officially by gm initially. There are ton of factors for affecting the top speed run but it is officially 205 and they have posted vids to prove it.
I believe the Lingenfelters stock 1/4 mile time is around 9:24@150 while the Hennessey at 9:25(not sure about speed at end of strip though). SRT-10 is 11.5@126, Maybe this is possibly an srt-10?

this video is has several different titles and descriptions so somebody's copying videos, but Im going to let you know that that viper has definately not had a full hennessy job done to it. The new vipers with the hennessy job have 1100HP! it's incredible and the corvette z06 lingenfelter has between that and 1000HP. theres no way in hell that the corvette would rape a viper like that unless it had serious work done to it and the viper had hardly any. And I'm a fan of both cars as well.
The new 2008 has 1200HP too and even more torque than the old one as well. It's incredible. The SRT teams was going to play with the Viper and do a 2000HP twin turbo Viper as a showcase but decided not to for reasons no one knows. I'm sad :-(

its cuz of the gear box they run, the shift limits are much shorter so it can get to 6th gear quicker where they can get most hp and speed, plus they run an 11.5:1 over the standard 9.5:1 talk bout a gas guzzler, just thought i'd let you know
Man alive what crazy comments from some of you. Here's the REAL DEAL on this race. The Vette is a Lingenfelter TT with built motor, the Viper is a Venom 650R no turbo. The Vette ran a 9.73 and the Viper ran a low 10. The Viper "looks" slow compared to the Vette but thats because the vette is TT and viper is only motor. But who would complain about having a 10 sec Viper? Give it some N02 and it's a 9 sec car like the vette. Or TT for 8 sec car.

Naw, this is a hella old video of Ligenfelters drag 800hp vette against a Hennessey venom 650r. So the vette had about 150 more hp and was auto. If they did this race now against one of the new hennessey vipers, it would be different.

oh for the people talking about the hennessy 1000tt that was only the 725 hp 427tt from lingenfelter. they made a 1100hp version too and that one ran an 8.95 second 1/4 mile with street legal tires. and it did 0-60 in 1.97 seconds. pluss lingenfelter now makes a 1300rwhp z06. they did not release the 1/4 mile time on it yet. but it holds the fastest standing mile for a full weight street legalo car with street tires.
The C6's do indeed weigh less, think about his. This fastest street 6speed viper is a 7.98, the fastest street vette, even with a smooth glide is an 8.60. The vettes are fast, but can not handle the torque of the viper.
the new one is based off the c6 z06 insted of the base modle like the one in road and traks 0-200 mph shoot out. the base one made 800 whp and the new one makes 1300 whp. plus the z06 weighs less.

this video is has several different titles and descriptions so somebody's copying videos, but Im going to let you know that that viper has definately not had a full hennessy job done to it. The new vipers with the hennessy job have 1100HP! it's incredible and the corvette z06 lingenfelter has between that and 1000HP. theres no way in hell that the corvette would rape a viper like that unless it had serious work done to it and the viper had hardly any. And I'm a fan of both cars as well.

The new 2008 has 1200HP too and even more torque than the old one as well. It's incredible. The SRT teams was going to play with the Viper and do a 2000HP twin turbo Viper as a showcase but decided not to for reasons no one knows. I'm sad :-(

its cuz of the gear box they run, the shift limits are much shorter so it can get to 6th gear quicker where they can get most hp and speed, plus they run an 11.5:1 over the standard 9.5:1 talk bout a gas guzzler, just thought i'd let you know

Man alive what crazy comments from some of you. Here's the REAL DEAL on this race. The Vette is a Lingenfelter TT with built motor, the Viper is a Venom 650R no turbo. The Vette ran a 9.73 and the Viper ran a low 10. The Viper "looks" slow compared to the Vette but thats because the vette is TT and viper is only motor. But who would complain about having a 10 sec Viper? Give it some N02 and it's a 9 sec car like the vette. Or TT for 8 sec car.

actually the hennessy should have twin turbos as well ....that corvette (if its the same one ive been reading about) does 0-60 in 1.97 secounds. the big readon the hennssy lost is because of the way its designed ..the boost is staggered and doesnt reach peek until about 140 mph that is done to make even the most ignorant driver some wat able to handle the 800-1000 hp vipers but in a race to 200mph the viper owns all...a true hennessy viper that is

Naw, this is a hella old video of Ligenfelters drag 800hp vette against a Hennessey venom 650r. So the vette had about 150 more hp and was auto. If they did this race now against one of the new hennessey vipers, it would be different.

i believe it, the lingenfelter twin turbo vette does 0-60 in about 1.9 sec. the viper had no chance even if it was a hennesy (which makes 0-60 in around 2.3)

oh for the people talking about the hennessy 1000tt that was only the 725 hp 427tt from lingenfelter. they made a 1100hp version too and that one ran an 8.95 second 1/4 mile with street legal tires. and it did 0-60 in 1.97 seconds. pluss lingenfelter now makes a 1300rwhp z06. they did not release the 1/4 mile time on it yet. but it holds the fastest standing mile for a full weight street legalo car with street tires.

The C6's do indeed weigh less, think about his. This fastest street 6speed viper is a 7.98, the fastest street vette, even with a smooth glide is an 8.60. The vettes are fast, but can not handle the torque of the viper.

the new one is based off the c6 z06 insted of the base modle like the one in road and traks 0-200 mph shoot out. the base one made 800 whp and the new one makes 1300 whp. plus the z06 weighs less.

i heard max power is an unreliable mag, but the 2000 hp svs stryker ttrs (4700 lbs) would probably be able to go that fast. the only thing to stop it would be the frame (the ssc ultimate aero tt with a cD of .357 will never beat 273 with any engine)
