  • @Sandi6967 You can work a row of single crochet across the row to finish.

  • omg this looks like so much fun! i cant wait to get to the craft store tomorrow to get a long crochet needle and some more yarn!!!

  • im using a 10in hook and the stitches are tight should they be loose

  • @MsMegaSkittles It will be easier to work with if your stitches are looser. You can try loosening up on your yarn.

  • at the end where i started at its curled and its still curled what do you do to make it stop curling at the beginning where to started at

  • @MsMegaSkittles There is nothing you can to to stop the curl completely. Starting out with a row of single crochet will reduce the curl but the curl happens to everyone.

  • This pattern will curl. So, once you're finished with your project simply block it using a damp washcloth and an iron. The weight of the iron should never fully rest on the material.

  • Hey, Can I ask, how do I end it? Like, after repeating it for many many times till I get the length I want, How do I end the last rows?

  • Cool stitch. I think they should rename it the catepillar stitch; it reminds me of a catepillar. However, Tunisian is a much more elegant name. : ) Nice teaching video. Thank you. Will bookmark this and come back to it later after i am more seasoned.

  • I love your videos since my wireless connection randomly cuts off I've downloaded them to my PC using Real-player. I love the slow motion as well and have learned how the basics of crocheting through your videos! I've heard people say this a lot, but crocheting really is easier than knitting! :)

I wanted to thank you for your detailed and easy-to-follow videos! They've helped a bunch (especially the beginner playlist). :)

  • **Reads Crochets reply to Sydbap2.**

Starts mission to find Sydbap2 comment. XD

  • I started a blanket using the Tunisian stitch, after a while I decided to half double crotchet a skein. How do I go back to the Tunisian stitch? I am having a difficult time. Thank you. I learned the Tunisian from you, what an amazing talent you are!

  • @lynnett5511 Well... You'll attach the new yarn like you usually do, next with the afghan hook go under both of the loops on the previous row pulling up loops all the way across, then continue as you normally would. :] I hope I helped! :D

  • Fantastic tutorial and really easy to follow, thank you very much for taking the time to teach us!!! Keep up the good work! ;)

  • That stitch looks so time consuming!

  • I love the stitch! I think it's absolutely beautiful, but I too am having massive difficulties with it curling up. I've tried using larger hooks & doing it very loosely, but it's still curling up.

What do you suggest to help with the curling & maintain the same stitch?

    Thanks in advance,

    Michelle K.

  • @SpiritFire1976 This stitch curls. You try to reduce the curl by working a single crochet row first. It will probably still curl some. That is the nature of the stitch. Once it is complete, you can shape it after you wash it and let it air dry. Place some towels on the edge for some light pressure to keep it flat.

  • @SpiritFire1976 To keep it from curling you can do the purl stitch for your second row. Here is the link...it worked for me, I hope this is helpful.

  • What if what i am making is longer than this?

  • @HelenaJN You will work a longer chain. You can make it as wide as you want.

  • @crochet But don't you need to keep all the loops on the hook?

  • @crochet but don't i have to keep all the loops on the hook? Do you have a video showing how to make it longer?

  • thank you!!! i am going to try and make an afghan for my little dog!

  • Hi, Arghh i'm just wondering if i'm doin sumthin wrong? It seems to want to curl up at both top and bottom. Am i doing it too tight do u think? or would it settle down the bigger it works out?

I would just also like to say that i've been following your videos from the uk and i have learnt sooooo much from you. You tought me my first crochet project and i've followed ever since :) Thank you

  • It must be a mature thing to make comments that are intended to cause controversy, don't you think we have enough going on to bringing to someone freely giving her time to show not just you but ANYONE how to learn a new art. I learned how to crochet through watching Theresa's videos and I can't express how happy I am to so thankful for your kindness and patience. Thanks T!

  • This is great!! I am just starting out with crochet and I love it. Working on a blanket for my son now. I think I am going to try this pattern on the blanket I am going to make for my daughter. I LOVE the slow motion. It helps so so much. Blessings on you.

  • @goffclan Thank you.

  • the project is curling up on me how do i fix that to make it flat?

  • I am just starting out crocheting. Is this a good one to start on? Also what do you reccommend this pattern is good for making? i.e blankets, hats, scarfs. Just would like to know. thank you for the help.

  • since this is my first time ever trying to do tunisian stitches, this video really helped me.. there were times i paused to catch up (since i was doing 100 stitches for a baby blanket) but it was worth the pausing.. good job showing how to do the stitches. keep up the good work.... thanks a bunch...

  • ha ha, I remember this, when I was a beginner like the day I just got my hook, my mom showed me this and I couldn't even do 1, lol

  • @fergiedurgish

I thought your comment was ridiculous. The majority of people out there NEED the slow motion! Lucky you -- you're so amazing and quick. Not everyone is so blessed as you. Why make comments like this?

  • @jimmersgal I have blocked the person from commenting since they have nothing nice to say. You may want to block them as well because they are only looking for negative attention.

  • Do you have instructions for the purl stitch in (extreme) slow motion? Susan Cravatt

  • I am glad you do the slow motion, I found I had made an error once I got to my third row. Thanks ! Susan Cravatt

  • @MatthewCravatt I am glad that you like the slow motion.

  • I was disappointed to see that this was labeled tunisian stitch entrelac, but did not cover entrelac. I'm hopeful that you will cover this in another video. Thank you for very clear concise instructions. I love the fact that you are using recycled yarn! (I'm also very visual, I just fast forward through the slow motion parts, but can see how they would be very helpful to others.)

  • @lovesardbeg If you look at the video response below this video, you will see a 45 minute tutorial that covers Entrelac.

  • @fergiedurgish its youtube, skip over it!

  • Tanks for such a detailed video

  • It seems as if there is a glitch cause it IS unusually slow compared to your other videos....Love your videos though!!

  • @hollymear This stitch works up a little slower than the regular crochet stitches. So when I slow down the track, it is going to be quite a bit slower. I will keep your feedback in mind for reference in not going to slow. Thank you!

  • Keep it in slow motion!

  • @fergiedurgish Just skip the slow motion parts ;)

  • nice teaching video; can you put on enough stitches on the hook to make a one piece afghan? I don't like piecing things together but I do like this stitch. thanks and God Bless for sharing your talents, you're a great instructor

  • @fergiedurgish Your input is very unusual! I still get many comments a week telling me to slow down and even more saying they like the slow motion.

  • Thank you! I am able to make these beautiful products for my friends and relatives on special occasions, Xmas, Valentine's Day, Birthdays etc. The best result is to see them smiling!

  • @sydbap21 I don't want to hear your thoughts then because you are putting out negativity. You are unable to provide constructive feedback to keep your thoughts to yourself!

  • @sydbap21 If you hate her why do you watch her videos?

  • @sydbap21

If you hate her so much than WTF are you doing on her channel? It's not that hard to click on another video.

  • is the left edge supposed to be different from the right edge?

  • @UnhappyRc The edges are supposed to be even

  • The title says " -Entrelac". Where's the entrelac part? That's what I was looking for. :(

  • I have a question. Is this a lot faster than making granny squares with traditional crochet to make a large afghan or blanket?

  • @garciajennifer223 I think it will depend on your experience with both techniques. They may be about the same.

  • I have one of these afghan hooks and I haven't tried it yet bc I didn't know how. Once again, you have EVERYTHING! Thanks!

  • @garciajennifer223 You are welcome!

  • can you do normal crochet stitches with tunisian needles?

  • @dharu81 You can if you want to but the hook might be awkward.

  • Can you make bobbles, popcorns and puff stitches in afghan crochet?

  • @matthewperry1982 Yes you can

  • I was wondering .. could i make a shawl using this stitch? and how many chains will i have to make in general to make an adult sized shawl Teresa?

  • Can you crochet smaller pieces and then join 'em together to make a Blanket???

Sorry if it's a stupid question. i am new to crocheting!!!!!! :)

  • @96Tiara This is a great question! Yes, You can make smaller pieces and crochet them together.

  • @crochet Thank you so much for your help.

  • @96Tiara

I do the same when knitting blankets, than weave them together. :)

  • thank you ! so i have this rolling/ twisting issue... think it's to tight?

  • @navybaby6987 The curling happens to everyone. You can work a row of single crochet to try to reduce the curl but it may still curl some.

  • I love, love, LOVE your videos!!! I learned the puff stitch from your other video. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to teach others!!!

  • @TheSandrasierra You are welcome, I appreciate the comment.

  • wouldnt you need a bigger crochet needle than the 16 inch if you make a full size ? like for instance this length of the crochet needle will only accomodate around the 25?

  • @angelikabodie I have fit 300 chains on the 16 inch hooks. You can make big blankets.

  • how would you make a blanket out of that ? would you have to piece thm together?

  • @kaydee510 Crochet more chains to make a full size blanket.

  • Im agree thanks a lot!!!!

  • @janis2348 You are welcome.

  • I Love your videos! You make it so easy to understand. Thank you so much for taking time to make these videos for us! :)

  • @breanne318 You are welcome.
